The leaf village is known for producing incredibly strong ninja but one ninja rose from being the villager prankster to the town hero. Naruto—the orange jumpsuit-wearing ninja—is a lot like Goku in that he’s always wishing to go beyond his limits and can be quite more comical than serious. Naruto even treats foes/opposing forces with respect and tries to earn their friendship before dueling them or having to take them down. In our minds, Naruto and Goku are both extremely goofy but do have traits that make them heroes when the time arises.

Goku has proven time after time that what he seeks is a stronger opponent. Who else does that sound like? The answer is everyone’s favorite bald-headed hero Saitama from One Punch Man! Saitama started off very different from Goku as he was a normal businessman just trying to earn enough for rent/groceries yet, when a villain attacked a young boy he stepped in and got his butt beat! Not willing to give up, Saitama won against the strange monster and dedicated his life to training so hard that he went completely bald. Saitama became a hero known for eliminating every foe with a singular punch—which makes us wonder if he’s stronger than Goku—and continues to try and find a stronger opponent.

Dreaming is all fine and dandy but if you only dream you’ll never reach the goal you want. Case in point, Monkey D. Luffy. Like our famous Saiyan warrior, Luffy isn’t all that normal thanks to a strange fruit—called the Gomu Gomu no Mi—that gave him rubber appendages. Despite now being far from waterproof—water can legit drown Luffy—our hero wishes to sail the seas as a strong pirate in search of the legendary treasure called One Piece. Goku might not have stretchy limbs like Luffy but the two heroes are usually known to be rather rebellious and seek trouble not to stop it but to challenge themselves. This desire to push their limits has landed them both in hot water in their respectable series but it allows us viewers to witness some truly magnificent battles!

Jin Mo-Ri might be less known in the anime world—since The God of High School only just started—but he and Goku are already two peas of a pod. Without spoiling the series for newcomers, Jin might come across as carefree and overly idiotic—traits that echo Goku to the letter—but his true power has only begun to show in the anime series. Fans of the WEBTOON for The God of High School already have learned the true power of our goofy lead martial artists but when the anime viewers see it they will immediately notice why Jin and Goku are brothers from different universes. Jin has already kicked some butt and keeps looking for a challenge and we have to wonder…could he take on Goku and win?

Our last entry on our list is Gon Freecss from Hunter x Hunter and we will say it now…this is Goku’s twin. Gon might be quite younger than Goku but the two warriors are clones of one another. Gon’s attitude—such as searching for stronger opponents and looking for ways to increase his power—as well as his demeanor match Goku so strongly we have to wonder if this was the intention of mangaka Yoshihiro Togashi. Even if it wasn’t and this was all a coincidence, the two warriors are constantly pushing themselves to reach limits mere mortals can’t reach all while going on adventures to search for even more dangerous battles. Gon might have a goofy smile but don’t let his kid appearance fool you…he’s a beast who could easily take down any challenger.
