Doukyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue. (My Roommate is a Cat) Preview (No Spoilers)
Subaru Mikazuki is a novelist who hates interacting with other people. Things only got worse for him after losing both of his parents died in an accident. Instead of interacting with others, Subaru spends most of his time at home and only leaves on rare occasions. while visiting his parents grave one day, he finds a stray cat and decides to bring it home with him despite not having any idea how to care for it. With the cat by his side, Subaru slowly starts to come out of his shell as he relearns what it is like to care for someone else.
Nana Oukami Highlights (Spoilers Beyond This Point)
1. Kind Heart
Nana is one of the kindest and has a passion for helping others. We see Nana go out of her way to help people like her dedication to helping Haru and Subaru. Her kind-hearted nature isn't solely reserved for her customers, we also see how sweet Nana is when she helps her brother by getting his booked signed by Subaru
2. Love of Cats
While Nana loves all people and animals she comes across, she has a special love for cats. Nana owns two cats of her own and is incredibly knowledgeable when it comes to taking care of cats. She is constantly sharing her knowledge with Subaru in order to improve Haru's life. Her love for cats can go to an extreme sometimes as she scolds Subaru for the way he takes care of Haru, but it is still nice to see how much she cares.
3. Book Signing
In episode nine, we get some of the best Nana moments in the anime. While we usually get to see the kind and cheerful side of Nana, during Subaru's book signing we get to see a much more bashful and flustered side of Nana. Nana is cute even when she is embarrassed and stumbling over her words.
4. Her Design
Not only is Nana kind, but she also has an incredibly cute design. The bright colors of her hair and eyes add to the warmth of her character and match her kind personality. Nana also has some great facial expressions that range from heartwarming to hilarious.
5. Haru’s Diet
After hearing about Haru’s weight gain, Nana heads over to Subaru’s house to give him some advice. Out of all of Nana's appearances, the fifth episode gives us the most Nana content. The episode has a little bit of everything, showing off the best parts of Nana's and fleshes out her character. We get to see Nana's kind-hearted nature, her serious love for cats, and we learn about her family including her two cats and her brother.
Final Thoughts
Nana is such a sweet girl you can't help but love everything about her. Although we don't get to see much of her throughout Doukyonin wa Hiza, Tokidoki, Atama no Ue., it makes the times we get see her that much better. How do you feel about Nana?
