1. School Girl/Zombie Hunter
- System: PS4
- Publisher: D3 Publisher, Aksys Games
- Developer: Tamsoft
- Release Dates: Jan 12, 2017
Set in the same world of Onechanbara, School Girl/Zombie Hunter focuses on a group of girls caught in a dire situation at their school. Sayuri along with her friend Risa have been trapped in the school and are now finding themselves face to face with thousands of undead beings! Together, Sayuri and Risa will team up with fellow students Mayaya, Enam and Rei to defend each other and escape the school. This won’t be a simple battle for these girls but armed with guns and swords will make it a tad easier.
Releasing only last year, School Girl/Zombie Hunter released as a spin off to the Onechanbara franchise. Players assume the role of 5 lovely girls armed tooth and nail with guns, spears and even their own clothes which they can throw to distract their foes. Whether half naked or wearing barely anything, these ladies show they can still kill zombies in mass droves. School Girl/Zombie Hunter is a game we here at Honey’s Anime reviewed ourselves and recommended it for a fun experience despite some issues here and there. Thus, if you need a more modern Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad title you won’t dislike School Girl/Zombie Hunter.
2. Bayonetta 2
- System: Wii U, Nintendo Switch
- Publisher: Nintendo
- Developer: PlatinumGames
- Release Dates: Sept 20, 2014
Only months ago, Bayonetta was facing demons and angels trying to regain her memories and defeat the foes that threatened her along the way. Now, Bayonetta is trying to enjoy some freedom from fighting by going Christmas shopping with Enzo. Things go south unfortunately when a group of angel warriors attack. Bayonetta joins forces with her friend Jeanne but during the battle Jeanne has her soul taken from a powerful summon beast. In order to save her friend, Bayonetta will once more need to rock her guns and her powerful magic all while looking good.
Rarely do sequels wow gamers. More often than not, sequels fall short in comparison to the original for numerous reasons. That isn’t the case with Bayonetta 2 though and in many ways, it is significantly better. Once more, players will control the sexy Bayonetta using various weapons and spells to defeat enemies and giant bosses alike. We love Bayonetta 2 for having both a sexy female lead—like Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad—and also being a solid third person action title. We recommend picking up the Nintendo Switch version of Bayonetta 2 as it comes with the original and is an improved version overall.

3. Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed
- System: PS3, PS4, PS Vita, PC
- Publisher: Acquire, XSEED Games, NIS America
- Developer: Acquire
- Release Dates: Nov 7, 2013
Akihabara, the mecca of anime and video games. In Japan, this sacred place is home to various individuals passionate about the otaku life. However, Akihabara faces a danger that no one expected in the form of Synthisters who are powerful beings that wish to drain the life out of the people in Akihabara. Only a small team of random heroes can stop the Synthisters and prevent their home from being destroyed.
What do you get when you mix anime themes with an action title? Simple, you get Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed. Players assume
the role of a nameless protagonist and must go around Akihabara—which tries to be an accurate representation of the real location—undressing enemies and beating them down with weapons like statues, hugging pillows and even fake swords. Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed is an absurd title but, just like Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad, it makes that absurdity work. Definitely pick up the PS4 version of Akiba’s Trip: Undead & Undressed as it’s the stronger version so you can enjoy stripping enemies in the highest quality.

4. Lollipop Chainsaw
- System: PS3, Xbox 360
- Publisher: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Kadokawa Games
- Developer: Grasshopper Manufacture
- Release Dates: Jun 12, 2012
Juliet Starling might be the 18-year-old idol of her school—probably because of her cheerleader status and good looks—but unknown to most there’s more to Juliet than just cheers. Hailing from a family of butt kicking monster hunters and slayers, Juliet is actually a trained fighting machine. Nevertheless, Juliet would rather focus on school things like showing her boyfriend—Nick Carlyle—off to her parents and perfecting the ultimate cheer. That all changes though when Juliet’s school and town gets invaded by zombies. Now Juliet must put down the pom-poms and pull out the chainsaw to save those she loves.
A cheerleading school girl seems ridiculous, right? Well, you can say the same thing about girls wearing bikinis to allow their skin to be permeated by the blood of their foes. That’s why as odd as Lollipop Chainsaw sounds, it is in good company on our list of 6 Games Like Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad. With third person action that has you slaying hundreds of zombies in skimpy outfits, Lollipop Chainsaw plays a lot like Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad. Even though it’s now been 6 years since Lollipop Chainsaw dropped on the PS3 and Xbox 360, if you need a great older title to play then we recommend picking up Lollipop Chainsaw.

For the shinobi girls that study at Hebijo Clandestine Girls’ Academy they are quite used to having to battle and face various dangers. However, the elite vixens face their greatest challenge when they are sucked into an alternate world. While this world might seem leisure filled with a beautiful island feeling, death looms in the shadows. The shinobi ladies will need to arm themselves and prepare for another epic showdown to find a way home. Let the beach action begin in Senran Kagura: Estival Versus.
Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad has beautiful girls but if you want even more well-endowed girls you might want to check out
Senran Kagura: Estival Versus. With girls that both kick butt and have huge oppai—and we mean huge—Senran Kagura: Estival Versus is a fun action title with a lot of fan service to be had. Dress your ladies in various outfits down to their undergarments and enjoy a nosebleed heavy story all while doing so. There are numerous Senran Kagura titles out there now but Senran Kagura: Estival Versus is easily one of our personal favorites here at Honey’s Anime HQ. Senran Kagura: Estival Versus might be fanservice heavy but it’s a solid title just like Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad.
6. Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni
- System: PS Vita, PC
- Publisher: Marvelous Inc., PQube
- Developer: Marvelous Inc.
- Release Dates: Oct 11, 2016
A strange virus has spread throughout the word affecting young women. Women that become infected end up gaining a powerful ability to make their bodies into powerful weapons. In order to avoid the world filling with chaos at these new super enhanced girls several island habitations are created—one being Bhikkhuni—to isolate the virus. Here the girls will train to hopefully learn to control their powers and become stronger individuals. Will these girls become stronger or will their powers unleash upon the world leading to chaos?
Let’s wrap up our 6 Games Like Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad with Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni. From the creative minds behind Senran Kagura—which you may remember from a few moments ago— Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni is an action title where you control big oppai girls who literally beat the snot out of each other. It sounds messed up but Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni is a ton of fun as you gain new powers and see a story of very subjective themes. Like Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad, Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni isn’t meant to be taken seriously in terms of story or concept but the action will keep you playing for hours. Valkyrie Drive: Bhikkhuni is a solid title and we 100% recommend it here at Honey’s Anime HQ. We swear though we recommend it for the gameplay not just the fan service even though that is a big plus while playing.
Final Thoughts
Girls in skimpy outfits killing zombies or games with gratuitous amounts of odd themes are what we love about the titles above. The mixture of action and fun gameplay keep the player enjoying the actual gameplay elements but the fan service makes sure to hook the audience in and never let them go. Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad may not have made a huge impact in The States, but we here at Honey’s Anime love it and equally think the games above will appeal to those who share our feelings. Do you have any other games to add to our list that you think echo the themes found in Onechanbara: Bikini Samurai Squad? Comment down below to let us and other readers know and be sure to keep stuck to our hive here at Honey’s Anime for more game recommendation lists just like this one.
