Hikari Kohinata (Pikari)
Voice Actor: Eri Suzuki
Hikari is a first year student in class 2 at Yumegaoka High School. Her hobby is scuba diving and assisting her grandmother with her beach hut business. She really likes giving nicknames to others so she is responsible for giving Teko and Cha their nicknames. She has a very bright personality and does things at her own pace, but she gets extremely tongue-tied sometimes. She is also inept at expressing herself properly. So in order to compensate for this, she carries a whistle. Currently she has just joined the diving club and her favorite phrase is 'upyyoo!'
Futaba Ooki (Teko)
Voice Actor: Ai Kayano
Futaba or Teko is also a first year student in the same class as Hikari at Yumegaoka High School. Previously she lived in Tokyo, but when she graduated from middle school, she moved to Izu. Due to some circumstances involving her commute to school, she now has a special bike license and rides a small scooter to school. Hikari asked her to join the diving club with her so she also is a member of it. Her favorite phrases to use are, if she is happy or moved, she says ‘Fuwaaaaa,’ and if she is refusing something or chiding someone she says ‘Kyakka (Rejected.)’
Mato Katori
Voice Actor: Shizuka Itou
Mato is the Japanese teacher at Yumegaoka High School in Shizuoka Prefecture, and she is also the homeroom teacher for class 1-2 and the diving club advisor. Just like Hikari, her hobby is scuba diving. On the way to the school entrance ceremony, she encounters Hikari with whom she has some sort of quarrel, but after learning that they are both diving enthusiasts, they hit it off.
Ai Ninomiya (Anechan)
Voice Actor: Saori Oonishi
Ai is a second year student in class 2-3 at Yumegaoka High School. She is the captain of the diving club. Makoto Ninomiya, who also belongs to the diving club, is her younger twin brother. Ai often goes diving around Izu and that is how she met Hikari and Futaba. At first, she was furious at Hikari and Futaba for entering the club room and using the equipment without permission, but after they introduced themselves and apologized profusely, she accepted them as new members of the diving club. Ai is very good at drawing pictures, and since she was a child, she has had a dream to be a manga artist. She does not do well when it comes to dealing with her twin brother Makoto and will kick things in a fit of rage. She often has him go and buy bento lunches for her.
Makoto Ninomiya (Otoutokun)
Voice Actor: Yuuichirou Umehara
Makoto is a second year student at Yumegaoka High School in Shizuoka Prefecture. He is a member of the diving club just like Hikari and Futaba. Ai is his twin sister. He also often goes diving around Izu and that is how he met Hikari and Futaba. Makoto is also bad at dealing with his twin sister Ai and the stress if very evident when they aren’t getting along. When he was a child, he had dreams of becoming a rock because they do not hurt. Ever since then, he and Ai have not gotten along well.
