Honey's Anime attended AnimeJapan 2017 held in Tokyo today (March 25th) as press, and this is one of short reports of stages we covered.
AnimeJapan 2017 was full of surprise announcements and explosive performances and the Alternative Girls special stage event was an absolutely fun experience. Alternative Girls is the latest VR title for smartphone devices, and at today's event the producer of Alternative Girls, "Gakky" Producer, showed it off to those in attendance. We were thrilled to be a part of the event as we had an opportunity to see parts of the game in action, along with a live narration performance by the seiyuu themselves.
Alternative Girls is a game that allows the player to feel totally connected to the characters as they play, acting as the captain of all the girls around them. Throughout the event the producer went through all of the notable details of the game, while showing off an awesome PV which shows all of the "kyun-kyun" energy. The term “kyun-kyun” in Japanese represents a very cute type of emotion that is emitted through the characters, and as you play through the game that energy is transferred to you. This was all very interesting since not many VR games have been released thus far for mobile devices, but Alternative Girls really exemplifies just how versatile VR can be and that you can take the exciting experience with you anywhere.
Perhaps the most enriching part about the Alternative Girls live event was the live narration which was performed by the seiyuu, because it gave us a glimpse of what to expect from the title and also provided us with a behind the scenes feeling as we got to see just how everything unfolds. Various demos of each character were shown off which gave us a closer look at their personality, but also just how seamless the game performs in VR. This is certainly a game that promises to provide players with an experience unlike any other mobile title, since you’re able to really get close to each character and join in on the fun. It was also announced that new songs would be created for the characters, with a second character song coming in May while the 3rd will make its release in June. Gakky Producer wrapped up the show by promising a special gift to the world, but we’ll have to wait and see just what gift that is. Until then, we look forward to hearing more about Alternative Girls when the release gets closer.
