Honey's Anime attended AnimeJapan 2017 held in Tokyo (March 26th) as press, and this is one of short reports of stages we covered.
Now this is the moment many were waiting for, the Attack on Titan season 2 special stage event which took place at the Red Stage. Fans have been anticipating more information pertaining to the second season since it was announced recently, and now a plethora of information is about to be unveiled to everyone. The first season ended off on such a high note and many were itching to know just what would happen to Eren and the rest of the cast. 5 seiyuu appeared on stage starting with Yuuki Kaji, Yui Ishikawa, Marina Inoue, Yuu Kobayashi along with Hiro Shimono. The seiyuu put on a great show and created a lot of laughs with their acting on stage before going into detail about what to expect from the much anticipated sequel. They stated that some characters from the previous season such as Sasha Blouse and Connie Springer will have more screen presence in season 2. They all expressed how happy they were to be working together again, since it’s been four years that the original Attack on Titan first aired. The host asked the seiyuu what their feelings were about the first season and many agreed that the emotions ran high, but the second season may be crazier than ever.
A new character was discussed during the session, known as Titan Beast, and it can communicate fluently in human language!
After watching the heart racing PV, we noticed that the main hero Eren and Armin didn’t make an appearance but perhaps there’s something the producers don’t want us to know just yet. It's very certain that Attack on Titan season 2 will be nothing short of amazing, however the hype didn't stop there as the group gave us an exclusive sneak peek at the first episode of season 2! All we can say is, expect there to be lots of blood and action in the upcoming action packed season, and with the new Titan Beast making its debut just how will the team manage and take out the threat before it's too late? Only one way to find out, and that's to tune into season 2 when it drops this spring!
Other products were unveiled such as the season 1 Blu-Ray box set with soundtrack, along with special character songs (Eren and Mikasa is already released) that will be released at a later time. The season 2 Volume 1 DVD/Blu-Ray box set will be available for purchase June 21st, while the second volume will be available August 18th. There will be special events that will take place throughout the year, with the first happening October 29th at the Tokyo International Forum Hall. Information pertaining to the Attack on Titan radio was also discussed, which will feature some prominent individuals from the series. July 28th, there will be a Live Impact Attack on Titan stage play. The seiyuu concluded the show with their own personal message to the fans of the show, with Eren’s seiyuu Yuuki Kaji asking the audience to devote their heart to the Attack on Titan team in loyalty and honor.
