Honey's Anime attended AnimeJapan 2017 held in Tokyo (March 26th) as press, and this is one of short reports of stages we covered.
A lot can be expected from a show as popular as Yowamushi Pedal, especially when it comes to its special stage event at AnimeJapan 2017 and let us tell you that we were not disappointed.
Artist Takaaki Natsushiro got the crowd started with a performance of his opening song "Cadence" and soon enough the stage was filled with the smiling faces of four good-looking seiyuus: Atsushi Abe (Touichiro Izumida), Tsubasa Yonaga (Sangaku Manami), Kenji Nojima (Yukinari Kuroda), and Mamoru Miyano (Takuto Ashikiba).
Their characters are members of Hakone Academy and the voice actors appeared in matching outfits showing the school logo. The newest season of Yowamushi Pedal is all about changes since the characters are slowly ending their high school careers and moving on to new adventures. The seiyuus, too, had to pass on their knowledge to the next generation
which includes two secret guests who appeared on stage. Daisuke Ono (Masakiyo Doubashi) and Yuuma Uchida (Yuuto Shinkai) are new cast members and their characters will be featured in future episodes.
New information announced on stage included the release of a Blu-Ray and DVD Vol.1 in April 2017 in Japan as well as the new OP ("Transit" by Takaaki Natsushiro) and ED ("Takitokoro" by Yusuke Saeki) starting from episode 13 of Yowamushi Pedal New Generation. Artist Saeki made an appearance as well and ended the event with an entertaining performance of his ED song "Now or Never". The crowd was filled with cheering women which shows how popular this show is among female viewers. So to all ladies out there, if you haven't watched Yowamushi Pedal yet, give it a try and watch it now!
