What You Need to Know:
- Aniplex of America is pleased to announce the Fate/EXTRA Last Encore Complete Blu-ray Box Set release on October 22nd. The series brings together esteemed director Akiyuki Shimbou and celebrated animation studio SHAFT, widely lauded for such huge hits such as Puella Magi Madoka Magica, the Monogatari series, Nisekoi, and March comes in like a lion. The box set features all thirteen episodes with both an English dub and Japanese audio with English subtitles within three Blu-ray discs, along with a collection of promotional videos and commercials as well as textless opening and ending. Housed in a rigid box, the Fate/EXTRA Last Encore Complete Blu-ray Box Set will also come with a deluxe booklet featuring an exclusive interview with TYPE-MOON’s Kinoko Nasu, who handled the series composition in addition to creating the original story, along with an interview with director Akiyuki Shimbou and numerous pages of character materials.
- Based on the Fate/Extra video game, the series transports viewers to a Holy Grail War of the Moon featuring the protagonist Hakuno Kishinami, voiced by Atsushi Abe (Yowamushi Pedal, A Certain Magical Index) and his Servant, the charismatic Saber, also known as the Emperor of Roses, voiced by Sakura Tange (Fate/Apocrypha, Cardcaptor Sakura). The English dub stars Cassandra Morris (Sword Art Online, Puella Magi Madoka Magica) and Billy Kametz (Cells at Work!, Katsugeki TOUKEN RANBU) under the English ADR direction of Fate series veteran Tony Oliver, who’s work includes Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works], Fate/Zero, Fate/Apocyrpha, Fate/Grand Order: First Order, and the Fate/stay night [Heaven’s Feel] films. The series also reunites both the Japanese and English dub cast of Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] who play an alternate version of their original characters including Kana Ueda and Mela Lee as Rin Tohsaka, Hiroshi Kamiya and Kyle McCarley as Shinji Matou, as well as Noriko Shitaya and Cristina Vee as Sakura Matou.
- The Monogatari series’ Satoru Kosaki of MONACA was tasked to handle the music for the series, which also featured an opening theme “Bright Burning Shout” by popular Japanese artist Takanori Nishikawa, who is well known by his stage name T.M. Revolution. Pre-orders are available now at online retailer, Right Stuf Anime (www.righstufanime.com), with the box set being available in the U.S. and Canada only.
