Discussion Time
From the first panel, Boku no Hero Academia 219 was quite an explosive chapter. Already our newly minted heroes are taking charge by stopping crime in the city. Bakugo and Shota’s team up was quite fun to see as they clearly are overpowered together but in a good way. Meanwhile, in a shady looking business tower, our long nose shady CEO from the newly created Detnerat company seems to be showing his crueler side by roughing up Giran. We already are thinking that Detnerat is clearly too cruel to be called heroes and probably will fall under the vigilante flag soon. We now have several groups that have various plans to take down the League of Villains but which will succeed and which group will make things more difficult by going in the wrong direction of heroism? We know it’s going to be coming soon and we can’t wait! Though in the meantime let us talk about the positives of chapter 219 and the negatives.
1. That Shota and Bakugo Team Up!
That first part of chapter 219 of Boku no Hero Academia was an explosive one thanks to the more explosive duo that is Shota and Bakugo. Watching them take down a villain—who took a purse mind you—in such an extravagant way was awesome. Maybe it was a bit over the top but the guy did have a quirk so it’s understandable you can’t take the risk. We loved the solid art though and it was a nice moment seeing as how the last few chapters have been without any actions.
2. Detnerat
Detnerat was only introduced a bit ago as a bigger element in Boku no Hero Academia but thanks to the long-nosed CEO, we think Detnerat will become quite important in future arcs coming. They clearly aren’t trying to do things the “civil” way and you can bet they will cause a lot of harm later on. Our bet is that Deku and the Nighteye Agency will have to start making moves on them later. That or they will create a three-way war between the heroes and League of Villains.
1. WHERE ARE THE OTHERS!?
If we had one issue with Boku no Hero Academia—though this isn’t just with this chapter—it’s that due to the absurd amount of characters now in this series, we’re beginning to notice a sad trend. A lot of the other heroes have been only appearing for brief moments here and there losing a lot of the panel time they use to have in earlier parts. This isn’t an unusual thing to see in Shonen Jump works, but we’ve always loved that Boku no Hero Academia was able to often include a majority of the characters in almost every chapter or few chapters. We just want some of our other heroes to be to return but it’s a minor complaint and doesn’t ruin chapter 219 or the series.
Final Thoughts
Chapter 219 of Boku no Hero Academia came in explosive and wrapped up the same way. We have heroes already showing their new licenses and have Detnerat proving they aren’t as heroic as they might look like to the public. What does Boku no Hero Academia have in store for us next?
