Toga…you aren’t really going to bow out from Boku no Hero Academia like this?! In chapter 227, we begin with Toga lying face down talking as if she is dying. Toga also makes an interesting quote saying she feels closer to them again implying she possibly was close to death once before. Meanwhile, The Meta Liberation Army talks about their fallen Chitose and how they wish they could use the battle’s footage making her a martyr. After some brief dialogue, we see Spinner—fighting several baddies—wondering when our sleeping Gigantomachia awakens. To make matters worse, a car comes flying in with an announcement of Chitose’s loss and makes the army go ballistic! Tomura seems to be the main target for the army’s rage but instead of panicking our villainous leader has a rather odd flashback about his grandmother—Nana Shimura in case you forgot—and Hana. In his anger about said flashback, Tomura activates his decay power and easily defeats the enemies that fly towards him with almost no effort. Spinner nearby is amazed at Tomura’s power and Dabi seems to find it a reason to finally enter the fray. Yet, just as Dabi heats up—no pun intended—another quirk user appears from the side of the army and he seems to have ice as his primary quirk. Needless to say, chapter 227 of Boku no Hero Academia sets up a pretty interesting battle for 228 all while being quite enjoyable if not a bit all over the place. We won’t hold that against this chapter though while we discuss reasons why you absolutely must-read chapter 227.

1. Two Deaths!?

We figured Chitose was going to possibly be killed by that massive attack from Toga, but we didn’t think Toga would possibly bow out as well! Toga did lose a massive amount of blood via her wounds and now is lying face down on the cold ground, but we hope this isn’t the end for our scary stalker-like lead villain! Even if it is or isn’t, her possible death makes chapter 227 feel that much more impactful.

2. Dabi versus…

Dabi’s finally entering the ring made for a nice finale to the chapter, especially seeing his possible next foe. The ice quirk user versus Dabi should make for a great—if not cliché—next big battle for our League of Villain. We are excited to see Dabi go back into action as he truly is a cool—and underused—villain from Boku no Hero Academia.

Final Thoughts

Boku no Hero Academia chapter 227 was a short chapter, but it did its job…very well. Not only do we have one confirmed death and another possible death, we have Tomura going all in and Dabi following in tangent. What will await us in chapter 228 of Boku no Hero Academia!?
