What You Need to Know:
- Fate Grand Order has successfully made its launch in the United States. For those unaware, Fate Grand Order is an online free-to-play game that is based on the popular Fate series. The game focuses on turn-based combat, where you play as the Master and you summon Servants to do battle. The servants available are ones we have seen before, such as the Emiya version of Archer and the iconic Saber, as well as some new faces, which definitely helps bring a certain vigor and excitement to the game.
- The story starts off at the Chaldea Security Organization, which is a special organization that is essentially responsible for the survival and continuation of the human species. The main reason this organization has been capable of such protection is through a device that can see the future. Well, this device says that humans will go extinct in 2018 and it’s due to an anomaly in Fuyuki City in 2004. Thus, those who have the power to become Masters are going to that time period to sort things out.
- Well, during this celebration, we were given a nice screening of what is essentially the tutorial/premise to the game. We watch Ritsuka Fujimaru get transported to 2004 and go up against a corrupted Saber in order to set things straight. By the end, it seems like things have taken a turn for the worst. It’s an interesting video and though the first 30 minutes might seem slow, the rest of the show moves forward at full throttle.
- Despite the hiccups and joys of watching something in such a public spacing (lots of noise, but quite nice when there’s a collective cheer), it was overall a fun experience that ended with a panel of guests particularly involved in the creation of Fate Grand Order. Though the whole panel was amazing, it is safe to say that most got a kick out of seeing Ayako Kawasumi, the Japanese voice actress for Saber!
It was so much fun seeing everyone's excited faces.
Now American fans can enjoy it as well! (and anyone with a US account too!)
