What You Need to Know:
- As a part of Anime Expo, WIT Studio announced a brand new anime coming in 2020. Titled "Great Pretender" the series will debut on the +ULTRA airing block sometimes next year.
- Some straff have also been relevealed in conjunction with this annoucement. The director will be Hiro Kaburagi (Kimi ni Todoke, Hoozuki no Reitetsu) with Yoshiyuki Sadamoto (Neon Genesis Evangelion, Fushigi no Umi no Nadia) working on character design and Ryota Kosawa working on the scripts.
- The story is as follows:
"Makoto Edamura is supposedly Japan's greatest swindler. Together with his partner Kudo, they try to trick a Frenchman in Asakusa, but unexpectedly get tricked instead. The Frenchman, whom they tried to swindle, turns out to be Laurent Thierry, a high-level mafia confidant. Edamura has now clue as to what's in store for him as he does the Frenchman's dirty work."
