Once again, we’re thrilled to welcome ASH, the charismatic frontman of ASH DA HERO, for another interview with Honey’s Anime! Known for his powerful vocals and boundless energy, ASH has been captivating audiences both in Japan and overseas with his band’s electrifying performances. Following the release of “Kyoukai Revolution,” the ending theme for the second half of Ultraman Omega, ASH sat down with us once again to talk about his love for the Ultraman series, the creative process behind the new songs, and what fans can look forward to during the band’s ongoing world tour.

Interview with ASH from ASH DA HERO

We love the Ultraman Omega opening and ending themes. How would you describe the connection of “BRIGHT EYES,” and which elements of the series influenced the music and lyrics of the song?

It’s truly an honor. From NARASAKI, who composed the music, and Matsui, who wrote the lyrics, I received a song of great importance. The moment I first heard the demo, I thought, “This is Ultraman.”

I’ve been a huge fan of the Ultraman series since childhood, right up to now. For all six years of elementary school, I used to write letters to Ultraman. I would even get replies, and reading those letters was part of my childhood.

That’s why, with all my love for Ultraman, I put my heart into singing every single note, hoping to give courage to the children who will grow up watching Omega. Who knows, maybe among those kids, there will be someone who dreams of becoming a musician and one day sings a theme song like I did. I want to keep passing the baton into the future.

You incorporated rap and lyrics into "Missing Link," the ending theme with MindaRyn. Do you prefer rapping or singing, and which do you find more challenging to perform live?

Both are part of my expression and my roots. I don’t find either one more challenging than the other. I always strive to give my best and make sure I’m fully prepared.

Now, ASH DA HERO is currently on a world tour. What has this experience been like so far? Do you have a road story you'd like to share with your fans?

It’s been full of interesting experiences. One tour story that stands out is from San Antonio, Texas. When I sang Deep in the Heart of Texas, the audience sang along and clapped with me, which was both wonderful and hilarious! Everyone in San Antonio was laughing, kind of like, “Why?” I really love surprises like that.

And what can ASH DA HERO fans anticipate for the rest of the dates of the tour? Could you offer a sneak peek into the stage setup or setlist?

We plan to play new songs from our new album. And of course, we’ll play the Omega song as well. A special guest has also been confirmed to join us.

That's so exciting! So, what are your plans for 2026?

I’m going to immediately start working on new music. Please look forward to it!

We always talk about your amazing career, and how fans have been follow you for so long, but what are some of your preferred songs and music videos that you would suggest to new listeners?

I’d love for them to listen to HYPERBEAT! It turned out to be an amazing album!
