What You Need to Know:
- Yesterday, Netflix Anime streamed a 2-hour-long special titled Netflix Anime Festival 2020 ~The Future of Anime, Together~, in which announced 16 new anime titles to be released starting in 2021.
- Taiki Sakurai (Netflix Anime Chief Producer), Mari Yamazaki (Manga Writer/Essayist), and Shuichiro Tanaka (David Production Producer) all took part in the event and it also featured guests Hisanori "Yoppi" Yoshida of Nippon Broadcasting News Anchor as MC and model/actress Rio Uchida as Special Supporter.

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness
A new original series from the Resident Evil franshise featuring Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield will be produced by TMS Entertainment and Quebico (Resident Evil: Vendetta) and released in 2021.
Godzilla: Singular Point
A new teaser PV was also premiered worldwide for the new original Godzilla story by bones x orange which will begin in April 2021. A new visual was also revealed!
Eden
Sci-fi fantasy about a girl raised by robots, Eden, was announced in 2019 but it was finally confirmes for May 2021 and will be directed by Yasuhiro Irie with animation production by Qubic Pictures. Netflix released a brand new trailer and visual for the original mini-series.
Vampire in the Garden
Stillframes were unveiled for the all-new Netflix original Vampire in the Garden, which was announced for 2021. In a world where vampires and humans coexist, their life is less than harmonious. The story follows two girls, a young human girl and a vampire queen, traveling in search of a peaceful "paradise" where they can each live the way they want. The anime will be produced by WIT Studio.
Yasuke
Character key visuals were shown for Yasuke, a fantasy period drama which also includes Oda Nobunaga in its cast. Yasuke is a mixture of mecha and magic in the Warring States period when Yasuke became the first African samurai. The strange life of the Ronin Yasuke will be revealed. Yasuke is created, directed, and produced by LeSean Thomas and will be under MAPPA's animation production. Yasuke is slated for a 2021 release.
Pacific Rim: The Black
Hollywood's Pacific Rim becomes a Netflix original anime series in Pacific Rim: The Dark Continent in 2021. Key visuals were revealed for the first time for Jaegers and KAIJU along with a teaser video. Pacific Rim: The Black will be gandled by Ploygon Pictures.
Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy - Earthrise...
EARTHRISE, the second chapter of the Transformers: War for Cybertron trilogy, was also announced to be released soon and a trailer was unveiled.
TRESE
An anime series from the Philippines, TRESE is a Netflix original anime series about the titular otherworld detective Tresse. The stage is Manila, Philippines, where the main character, Alexandra Tresse, is confronted with the evil creatures of the underworld. Worldwide distribution is planned for 2021. B: The Beginning Succession
Scene images were revealed for Netflix original anime series B: The Beginning Succession, which is the 2nd season ofthe hit B: The Beginning and is slated for 2021.
Baki Hanma
The third and final part of the Baki series, Baki Hanma, was announced for a 2021 worldwide release. The announcement was conmemorated with a special original work by Keisuke Itagaki and a teaser video was shown.
Thermae Romae Novae
Netflix original anime series Thermae Romae Novae, based on the the comedy by Mari Yamazaki, will be released "soon". A comedy about a time-traveling Roman Empire bath designer that travels to Japan, this will be a new (novae) version of the classic hit with all-new art from Yamazaki.
High-Rise Invasion
The crazy, grotesque death game manga by Takahiro Oba and Tsuina Miura (Ajin), High-Rise Invasion, becomes a Netflix original anime series and is slated for a February 2021 worldwide release. Two key visuals were released as well as the staff and cast. The anime will be directed by Masahiro Takata and Zero-G will be in charge of animation production.
Rilakkuma’s Theme Park Adventure
Netflix's new original stop-motion animation series centered on the San-X character Rilakkuma, Rilakkuma’s Theme Park Adventure, follows the titular bear's life as the amusement park is about to close but Rilakkuma wants to come out and play. Rilakkuma’s Theme Park Adventure is coming soon.
Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan
A colection of the strange memoirs of the mangaka in Diamond is Unbrelakable, Kishibe Rohan, the manga gets made into anime and is slated for a 2021 release. Takahiro Sakurai will be cast in it as the titular Kishibe, and production will be handled by david production. A key visual was revealed as well.
The Way of the Househusband
The anime adaptation of The Way of the Househusband by Kousuke Oono, starring Kenjiro Tsuda (Ultraman, SAC_2045) was announced for a worldwide release in 2021. Based on the hit manga by the same name, the anime will follow terrifying ex-yakuza in his new life as a stay-at-home husband. Kenjiro Tsuda played the titular character in the live-action version as well. JC Staff will handle animation production.
Spriggan
Announced last month, the new Spriggan was confirmed for a 2021 release. A new teaser PV was unveiled.
