- Last Sunday, during the Second "Kan Colle" Naval Review event in Yokohama, the staff of Kantai Collection announced that a movie will be released in 2016.
- The Kantai Collection Staff's Twitter account also revealed a new visual (see above).
- A sequel was announced as well, at the ending scene of the anime's final episode.
