Synopsis
The time is the end of Meiji era- Takuboku Ishikawa, the genius poet who doesn't have money, begins to work as a detective in a hotel after encountering a murder case. The name of the office is "Takuboku Detective Office". Kyousuke Kindaichi is the assistant of Takuboku, who is Takuboku's senior from the same village and encounters many cases including "the Ghost Case of the 12th Floor of Asakusa" and "Man-Eater Dolls which Walks Through the Town in a Snowy Night." The genius poet Takuboku Ishikawa becomes active in Tokyo, a city with undergoing civilization and enlightenment, together with his poet friends of Kodo Nomura, Isamu Yoshii, Sakutaro Hagiwara, and Bokusui Wakayama.

Takuboku Ishikawa: Shintarou Asanuma
The genius poet. Kyousuke Kindaichi is his upperclassman during his middle school. He is a handsome boy who flirts with girls and cannot keep track of his money.
Kyousuke Kindaichi: Takahiro Sakurai
Part-time teacher of Kokugakuin University. He is the kind man who admires Takuboku Ishikawa's talenta. He cannot reject Takuboku's request.
Kodo Nomura: Kenjirou Tsuda
A student at Tokyo Empire University. Kyosuke's classmate at junior high school. He is kind and always taking care of his friends.
Taro Hirai: Kenshou Ono
Curious bookworm boy. He is interested in the incidents which Takuboku deals with. He has good observation eyes and shows very insightful infer.
Isamu Yoshii: Souma Saitou
He is born in rich family. He thinks Takuboku is his rivalry, later he makes lyrics of "Gondora no Uta" which makes him famous.

What You Need to Know:
- At Anime Jpaan, Kitsutsuki Tantei Dokoro (Woodpecker Detective's Office) has announced that the Kei Ii's novel will be getting an anime adaptation. The novel was originally published in 1999 before being republished in November 2008.
- The story is set all the way back in the Meiji era in 1909. It tells the story of Takuboku Ishikawa who has just been brought a news article claiming that someone were attacked by a spirit by Kyousuke Kindaichi. He is more or less forced to take on this mystery in order feed his family, but when he does take on this job with Kyousuke as his assistant, things begin to change...
- The studio is Lidenfilms. The director is Shinpei Ezaki, Series Composition is handled by Taku Kishimoto, and Kaoru Saki. With more than a year to go, we are loking forward to what comes next for this series!
