Komi-san can't communicate. Although everyone is attracted to her beautiful appearance, when she tries to talk to others, her face becomes stiff because of extreme nervousness and overthinking "how to talk" and "what to do after talking". But the truth is, she really wants to talk to people. Her dream is to make 100 friends.

Tadano-kun is just a person. His goal is to read between the lines to not stand out in class and spend a normal high school life just how a "normal" person does. However, he seems to be good at understanding people's feelings, and therefore, finds out that Komi-san has a communication disorder. He becomes Komi-san's "first friend".

Najimi is well adapted to their environment. They are Tadano-kun's childhood friend. Or rather, they're everyone's childhood friend. Their communication skills are extremely good, so they can get along with anyone minutes after meeting them. However, they seem to dislike Komi-san as they have a trauma related to her. They usually wear a skirt to school and dress as a "schoolgirl", but they used to dress as a "schoolboy" until junior high school. Their gender is a mystery.

Yamai-san is a yandere. She’s very fashionable and is the leader of a group of cool girls in class. However, in truth, she loves Komi-san. She loves her so, so much. For this reason, she is jealous of Tadano-kun, who seems to be close to her.

Nakanaka-san suffers from eighth-grader syndrome. When she approaches Komi-san, the forbidden power of “Dragon Force” within her body reacts. Due to this reaction, she requests a blood contract with Princess Komilia (Komi-san) and visits her in various incarnations. Or maybe it’s all excuses. Maybe she just wants to be friends?

Agari-san suffers from performance anxiety. When she thinks that people are watching her, she can’t do anything right. She dislikes her own appearance, specifically her chubbiness and short legs, and yearns to be like the beautiful and stylish Komi-san. The bathroom is her safe space.

Yadano-san hates to lose. She sees Komi-san as the best in the class, so she can’t help wanting to beat her at something. Physical measurements, fitness tests, exams... She takes any opportunity to compete with her. However, Komi-san doesn’t seem to remember her at all.

A friendly boy with dyed brown hair. He seems like a typical shallow womanizer, but he’s surrounded by so many other distinctive classmates that he hardly stands out at all. He often hangs out with Sonoda and Shinobino.
