The daughter of Professor Layton, Katrielle Layton, along with her talking dog Sheri, and her assistant Ernest Greeves, run the Layton Detective Agency. Daily, they solve strange happenings that occur in London.

Originally, she began working at the Agency as a means to help her find her father, Hershel Layton, who up and disappeared one day. Due to her incredible way of thinking, her skill for solving mysteries has gradually become a hot topic, and eventually, more and more requests come fluttering in.

Katrielle Layton

Katrielle is a young girl who loves riddles and strange happenings. Cheerful and friendly, she has excellent manners thanks to the efforts of her father, Professor Layton, who taught her how to be ladylike and how to act with grace and dignity. At first glance, she can come across as pushy with her successive successful reasoning. Her weakness is stylish sweets.

Sheri

Voice Actor: Juurouta Kosugi

Sheri is Katrielle’s assistant and a talking dog. Other people can only hear him speaking as barking noises, but Katrielle and Earnest are able to understand him and talk with him normally. Even if the case is a serious one, the back and forth between Sheri and Katrielle makes them both burst into laughter. He says that he received his name from a previous famous detective.

Earnest Greeves

Voice Actor: Yasuhiro Ikeda

Earnest is Katrielle’s other assistant. He has a boring aspect to him, but this youngster has a gentle heart. Katrielle calls him “Ernie” and often treats him like he is a part-time worker rather than her assistant, but he respects Katrielle.

Inspector Ercule Hastings

Voice Actor: Youhei Tadano

Ercule is an inspector from Scotland Yard. His conviction to protect the peace in London is very strong and although he looks scary the public place their faith in him. He sometimes hires Katrielle to help him solve especially difficult cases.

Emiliana Perfetti

Emiliana has gained a reputation in London as a genius analyst and top tier profiler. She views Katrielle as a rival and whenever the chance arises, she tries to quarrel with her.
