- Kotaku Australia reported today that the Sydney branch of the Japanese bookstore Kinokuniya had to remove 7 manga titles from their shelves after a complaint by a legislator— Connie Bonaros—who was concerned they were "child pornography".
- In Australia, distributing any pornographic depiction of a person under the age of 18 is illegal, whether live-action or animated. As such, Bonaros and her party called for a review of manga content in Australia because they are concerned it depicts "child exploitation". Eromanga Sensei was especially disturbing to them since it also "heavily features incest themes".
- In Japan, while child pornography is illegal if it features a real person under the age of 18. However, fictional depictions are exempted from the law.
- Kinokuniya's VP, Keijiro Mori, is in communication with the Australian Classification Board in order to resolve the issue as he states that the company always complies with all countries' laws and regulations.
