Synopsis
The anime's setting is a fictional Japanese city named Sugomori City. One day, Noriko Sonosaki tells her classmate Katsuhira Agata, "You have been selected to be a Kiznaiver." The Kizuna System, which allows Katsuhira to share his wounds, connects him to the classmates whose lives and personalities completely differ from his. The Kizuna System is an incomplete system for the implementation of world peace that connects people through wounds. All those who are connected to this system are called Kiznaivers. When one Kiznaiver is wounded, the system divides and transmits the wound among the other Kiznaivers. Sugomori City is built on reclaimed land, but as the years go by, the city's population is decreasing. The story is set in this town where Katsuhira and the others live.

Characters
Katsuhira Akata: The protagonist of the story with a dulled sense of pain and emotions. The character is described as socially apathetic with a lack of interest in others.
Noriko Sonosaki: A mysterious and beautiful girl who assigned the mission to Katsuhira and others as subjects for the Kizuna experiment. She is even more emtionless than Katsuhira, and shows no signs of humanness.
Hajime Tenga: A musclebrain who acts before he thinks. While he is rude, he also shows leadership qualities and a strong sense of compassion.
Tsuguto Yoshida: Always surrounded by girls, Yoshida is a handsome and socially active honor student. He is also selfish and sly, and cold to other men.
Honoka Maki: A mature and calm girl who prefers being alone. She has a tight attitude, and tends to say mean things.
Yoshiharu Hisomu: Surrounded by mysteries, but one thing everyone agrees with is that he's sexy. He has a distinctive look with a bandage and multiple piercings.
Chidori Takashiro: Katsuhira's childhood friend, she is a class representative-type who likes to take care of others to the point where it can be nosy. Does she have feelings for Katsuhira...?
Niko Niiyama: A mysterious air-headed girl who claims she can see fairies. Not only her words, but her fashion is unique too.
