What You Need to Know:
- Late last night here in Japan, it was officially announced that renowned seiyuu,Keiji Fujiwara, passed away the young age of 55 due to cancer. Many had speculated that his death was in connection to the COVID-19 outbreak, but doctors confirmed that it was not the case. Keiji Fujiwara was one of the biggest names in the seiyuu world, voicing some of the most recognizable voices in the industry: Hiroshi Nohara from the beloved Crayon Shin-chan series, Shingo Shouji from Initial D, Maes Hughes from Full Metal Alchemist, Mewtwo from Super Smash Bros, and the more recent Reno from Final Fantasy 7 Remake (he also voiced Reno in Advent Children).
- It goes without saying that Keiji Fujiwara has left such an impactful imprint on the seiyuu world with his incredibly long resume of characters he's voiced. We here at Honey's Anime are totally saddened by his passing, as many of his roles have touched our hearts in some way or another. His legacy will certainly live on in his work and we send nothing but love to his loved ones during this time.
- Keiji Fujiwara is another big name that has suddenly passed, as just a couple weeks ago iconic comedian Ken Shimura passed away due to complications surrounding the COVID-19 virus. We pray that you all stay safe during this time
