RPG Maker?! Wow, this is like every aspiring game developer's dream game! Even if you don't aspire to be one, I imagine it's still fun to create your own little world!
I've never dabbled with the iconic series, but perhaps now would be a great time to invest in a 3DS to get in on the action!
