This is unique... it sounds a lot like Arakawa Under the Bridge with Chuunibyou? Maybe? Or are we just going to get expositions? I am confused.

I kinda see that. This is also like Oregairu aka My Teen Romantic Comedy SNAFU. I am pretty sure the series will not take itself too seriously.

What is with that title though? It's so long. Who can remember all of that?

This is from the author who wrote Just Because! and Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo, so I think it's safe to say if you liked them, you'll enjoy the movements in this one. The series also has a sequel movie coming out next year so I am sure that this will not end up with more than 1 cour.

Synopsis

Puberty Syndrome.

A rumored, strange phenomenon that only happens during puberty where one is emotionally unstable.

For example, that's what happened when a wild bunny girl appears in front of Sakuta Azusagawa.

Her true form is actually his high school upperclassman and actress on hiatus, Mai Sakurajima. Mai's alluring form, for some reason, goes unnoticed by those around her.

Sakuta has set out now on a mission to solve this mystery, and while spending time with Mai, he learns her hidden desires… Then, heroines suffering from puberty syndrome start appearing around Sakuta one after another.

In the city where the sky and sea glisten, this mysterious story that will sway your heart starts now.

Three Episode Impression

When I first think of bunny girls, of course, I think of Playboy. With Mai walking around in a Playboy bunny outfit, it’s hard not to think in that direction, but Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai betrayed my expectations. Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai is an anime that takes itself seriously discussing the topic of adolescent syndrome in the face of tougher subject matters. The characters develop it due to some issue they are dealing with, and it manifests in supernatural ways. Mai becomes invisible and slowly disappears from people’s memories while Sakuta’s sister manifests abrasions and lacerations on her skin. Sakuta, himself, ends up in the hospital from dealing with the same situation as his sister. Seishun Buta Yarou wa Bunny Girl Senpai no Yume wo Minai takes on a dramatic role as we see how these things affect each of the characters mentally, and it’s a rather interesting take while Sakuta and Mai slowly develop their romance. It has an air of Golden Time, but I’ve been told it’s similar to Bakemonogatari in its own way. With the conclusion of episode 3 and Mai finally coming out of her invisibility, we can only wonder what will happen next.
