What You Need to Know:
- Have you ever heard of the phrase, "if it ain't broken, don't fix it"? This is one of those times. Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso is well loved by the fandom for the original work as well as the anime adaptation which were both well received. In the age of all things live action, it seems like that may not be the case.
- We are already looking at a Full-Metal Alchemist Live Action movie for 2017 as well as Gintama one. While some live actions are well-received, almost all fans are cautious about it because there are just some things that do not translate well when performed by real people rather than ficticious characters.
- This is that time. While Kimi no Na wa has been in theaters for a bit now, and people are still in love with it and it is pulling almost 100k viewers a day on weekends. Shigatsu opened this weekend and barely got 25k viewers in the first day. Yahoo, the preferred source of news in Japan, is littered with 1 star reviews of the movie. While there are some five star reviews as well, there are so many one star reviews that it has plummeted the rating of the movie on Yahoo reviews. The bottom reivew pictured below has two reviews with one star and no explanation while the one underneath that is another 1 star review and it says "This movie was so bad, I feel as if it has sullied the reputation of the original work."

Reactions Around the Web
The original work and the anime is all we need.
This is all the fault of Suzu Hirose!
They should have let it end when the anime ended.
I saw the anime! I don't want to see the story again in live action form.
The PVs were bad... what do you expect?
Well I mean the emotions evoked by this series are par none. To be honest, I think it would be hard to expect the same experience twice with two different mediums.
They cannot all be winners. I mean even we have lists about them. Good and bad adaptations are everywhere.
