Synopsis
Though considered to be the world’s most powerful sage, Gaius feels the limits of the mark with which he was born. Taking some drastic steps in order to overcome his limits, he reincarnates himself so that he can get a new body, and with it, a more powerful mark! He is reincarnated in a world in the distant future as Mathias and obtains exactly what he desired—the most optimal mark for magical combat. To his dismay, however, the times have changed and in the world he is now living in, that mark is said to be the weakest!
The state of magic has greatly deteriorated over time, and in this era, only a basic understanding of magic is prevalent. Possessing the strongest mark for magical combat (the “weakest mark”) and the wisdom of a sage, Mathias continues to shatter people’s conceptions of the world!

Mathias: Nina Tamaki
A former sage considered to be the most powerful in the world. Despite this, he feels the limits of his mark and reincarnates himself so that he can obtain the optimal mark for magical combat, the fourth mark. After waking up in his new body, he notices that he has obtained the powerful fourth mark and his powers are even stronger than before. However, he knows little about the current era.
Lurie: Sayumi Suzushiro
A young girl who comes to take the entrance exam for the Second Royal Academy. The day before the exam, she meets Mathias, who is looking for a new sword to replace his broken one. She possesses the first mark (the Mark of Glory) and excels at enhancement magic. She’s reserved and courteous, but is very touchy feely with Mathias.
Arma: Haruka Shiraishi
Lurie’s best friend. She has a sharp intuition and isn’t shy around anyone. She doesn’t want to get married in some strange place, so she leaves the countryside and goes to the Second Royal Academy. She possesses the second mark (the Eternal Demon Mark) and is much more skilled with a bow than a sword.
Iris: Shiori Izawa
She takes on the appearance of a woman, but is actually the legendary black dragon that always causes calamity in her wake. She knows Mathias from his previous life and is invited by him to attend the Second Royal Academy. She has less common sense than Mathias and because she can’t control her magic well, every time she tries to do something, she ends up destroying everything in sight.
