What You Need to Know:
- It has been revealed that a French-Japanese animated movie will premiere this year on May 11 at the Cannes Film Festival. It will be released in Japanese cinemas on September 17.
- Titled The Red Turtle in English and Red Turtle: Aru Shima no Monogatari (The Tale of a Certain Island) in Japanese, the feature-length anime will be produced under a collaboration between Studio Ghibli and Wild Bunch!
- The Red Turtle will be written and directed by long-time friend of Studio Ghibli, Michaël Dudok de Wit, with Pascale Ferran also working on the screenplay. The first visual has also been released - check it out below!
