Sumire Morohoshi Profile
Born: April 23.
Growing up in a music-loving family, Sumire was constantly exposed to music from an early age. She sang popular songs under the influence of her parents, pretended to be an idol with her older sister, and sang her favorite parts from musicals by herself.
Her childhood fascination with Yubaba from the animated film Spirited Away sparked an interest in acting, and she joined the Himawari Theatre Group at the age of 3. She then built up her career as a child actress by appearing in TV dramas, stage performances, and dubbing productions, and in 2012, she played her first leading role in the TV anime Aikatsu! (Ichigo Hoshimiya). In 2013, she gained attention for dubbing the Japanese version of the role of Vanellope in Disney’s Sugar Rush. She is currently active as a young and talented voice actress.
As a solo singer, she made her debut in 2019 with a mini-album that included “Mashiro,” the OP for Season 1 of Ascendance of a Bookworm, followed by the single “Tsumujikaze,” the OP for Season 2 of the same anime. Most recently, she has been selected to sing the ED of Sugar Apple Fairy Tale, a new anime that will start airing in January 2023.
