The story is set in the year 2002. The Japanese men’s team, once prominent in the world of gymnastics, has fallen from its former glory. Joutaro Aragaki, 29-years-old, once a member of Japan’s team, has devoted his life to gymnastics but is no longer able to perform as well as he used to. Despite arduous training day after day, his coach, Noriyuki Amakusa, advises him to retire. With the support of his daughter, Rei, Joutaro continues to train until one day he meets someone who changes the Aragaki family forever.
