Synopsis
Tenchi Masaki is next in line to inherit his family shrine, the Masaki Shrine. Not matter how you look at him, he is an absurdly normal boy. Behind the Masaki Shrine, deep in the mountains a “demon” is sealed in a “Hokora” or small shrine. Tenchi accidentally unseals this “demon” named Ryoko, and she revives while Tenchi suddenly finds himself in a difficult position of having to fight! To make things more interesting, Ryoko’s longtime arch rival, Ayeka, happens to, by chance, descend to Earth… It was at this moment that Tenchi began to learn of the Jurai family that currently rules the Milky Way Galaxy!

Tenchi Masaki
Voice Actor: Masami Kikuchi
Tenchi is the main character. Tenchi is currently slated to inherit the Masaki Shrine when he finds out that he is actually descended from the Jurai Royal Family. One after another, women begin to appear and suddenly he surrounded by female warriors and his ill fortune with women compounds.
Ryoko
Voice Actor: Ai Orikasa
Ryoko is the “demon” that was sealed at the Masaki Shrine. Ryoko is a former space pirate who is currently freeloading at the Masaki household because she has fallen in love with Tenchi. She and Ayeka are rivals in love. A heavy drinker, she is so bad at chores that she just annihilates things.
Ayeka Masaki Jurai
Voice Actor: Haruhi Nanao
Ayeka is the crown princess of Jurai. She set off from Jurai in search of her brother Youshio. She has traveled all the way to the distant planet Earth. Elegant and pure, Ayeka is very proud. She can also though snap and go into a hysterical frenzy. Ayeka too has fallen for Tenchi due to the fact that he looks exactly like Yoshio. Ryoko is her rival in love.
Sasami Masaki Jurai
Voice Actor: Chisa Yokoyama
Sasami is Ayeka’s younger sister and next in line for the throne after Ayeka. Through a certain event, she has assimilated her identity with that of the founder of the Jurai family, Tsunami. She too has secretly fallen for Tenchi. Not even considering herself being above it all, Sasami helps with all of the household chores. Sasami does all of the household chores in the Masaki household by herself.
Mihoshi Kuramitsu
Voice Actor: Michie Tomizawa
Mihoshi is a top ranked Galaxy Police Officer. Mihoshi is the granddaughter of the head of the GXP Academy. Nicknamed the Unexpected genius, she possesses an absurd amount of good luck and due to it has solved various incidents. In reality though, she is kind of a spontaneous idiot.
Washu Hakubi
Voice Actor: Yuuko Kobayashi
Washu refers to herself as the greatest scientist in the universe and one of the founders of the Milky Way Academy. Actually, she has been alive for over 20000 years. In the past, she created both Ryoko and Ryo-ouki, so at the same time this makes her the oldest sister of the three goddesses.
Ryo-ouki
Voice Actor: Etsuko Kozakura
Ryo-ouki (Ryo-ohki) is at the same time both a spaceship and a living computer unit. Normally she appears as a cat with long ears but she can also turn into a spaceship as well as take human form. Ryo-ouki loves carrots so all of the fields around the Masaki household have been turned into carrot fields for her sake.
Noike Kamiki Jurai
Voice Actor: Naomi Shindou
Noike is also a top ranked Galaxy Police Officer and Mihoshi’s former partner. As such, she is one of the few people who can control Mihoshi. Noike is the adopted daughter of Seto Kamiki Jurai, the devil princess of Jurai. She was sent in as Tenchi's overseer as well as his fiancee. Along with Sasami, Noike as well helps out with all of the chores in the Masaki household.
