You get it right?
I love me a good loli and ojisan setup anime. They are fantastic. Alice to Zouroku was just that this season and I enjoyed it. It got kinda… out there at the end and we were just magically skipping over a bunch of plot holes, but hey, it’s that anime in a nutshell? If by now, you have not realized the next sentence you are about to read, then I am sorry but brace yourselves. Sana is Alice in wonderland. You even have that jerk of a rabbit running around leading them into more problems.
The series of course has to have the touching moment where Zouroku comes looking for Sana and then tells her that when someone helps you, you need to do something nice in return. You get a moral along with your cup of cuteness. Something about this show is just so great and I could literally just sit around and watch it all year round as it was entertaining. Plus the OP by ORESAMA was cute, fun, and catchy. It’s a shame to see it go, but I am sure I will find something similar in the next season that I like as well.
Akane Love
One of my favorite characters from Spring 2017 has to be Akane from Renai Boukun, and this last episode has taken the cake. First off, she’s a yandere, but a comedic yandere. In episode 12 of Renai Boukun, Akane was so determined to go after Seiji in Hell that she imagined the worst possibility and killed herself through shock just to follow Seiji to Hell. If that was not enough, Akane pretty much annihilated everyone who got in the way of her quest. After finding Seiji, she helps him fulfill his goal of bringing back Guri, but once Guri realizes her feelings towards Seiji, Akane is ready to get rid of her again.
Episode 12 is just too great. I can’t believe how silly it was and it was a fun end of the season. I really loved Akane through all of her moods and how ready she was to kill Guri the moment she came to her senses, became an angel again, and kissed Seiji. Ah, it is the perfect way to end the season for a harem anime like Renai Boukun. So yes, this may sound like an ode to Akane, and it is. It’s a shame it is over now!!
Are you a boy or a girl?
No, we won’t be talking about Pokémon, but if Kenka Banchou Otome (or Girl Beats Boys, whatever suits you) was a better known anime, Prof. Oak’s famous question would definitely be meme material. This is a show about a girl, Hinako, taking the place of a boy in an all-boy’s academy, climbing to the top of the food chain in the name of Hikaru Onigashima, because the only thing that matters in Shishiku Academy is being the best fighter… or bully. Until now, everything was full of clichés, showing how a supposedly weak girl can beat supposedly tough boys with extreme ease, turning some enemies into friends and hiding the fact that, well, she’s a girl. But now EVERYONE knows she’s a girl?! Last week’s episode showed us how her elder brother, second year’s best fighter, recognized her and brought the subject up, but now everyone in the academy has their suspicions because she/he was seen with a male idol.
If you’re not watching this you should give it a try, because its nine minute episodes are surprisingly good, and the story is fun and interesting for this kind of show. The best part of this 11th episode was all this boys wanting to see "hard evidence" of Hikaru’s sex, while the boy’s friends try and defend him. Maybe it’s just me, but I wouldn’t mind having a second season for Kenka Banchou Otome… or make it a great OVA!
