GKIDS and Fathom Events Bring a Slate of Acclaimed Animated Films Back to Theaters Nationwide Throughout 2021
What You Need to Know:
- GKIDS, the acclaimed producer and distributor of multiple Academy Awardâ-nominated animated features, and long-time partner Fathom Events, continue their collaboration, bringing back a series of recent critically acclaimed and fan-favorite titles for nationwide event screenings.
- Tickets for all events are on sale now, and can be purchased online by visiting gkids.com/events, or at participating theater box offices. The ticket on-sale date may vary based on local cinema re-openings, so please check back often. (Theaters and participants are subject to change).
- Each event will be shown in both original Japanese and English dubbed versions, and will include exclusive bonus content. Promare, Weathering With You, and Lupin III: The First events will additionally be available in 4DX, the immersive multi-sensory cinematic experience, at select locations across the country.

When Ruka was younger, she saw a ghost in the water at the aquarium where her dad works. Now she feels drawn toward the aquarium and the two mysterious boys she meets there, Umi and Sora. They were raised by dugongs and hear the same strange calls from the sea as she does. Ruka’s dad and the other adults who work at the aquarium are only distantly aware of what the children are experiencing as they get caught up in the mystery of the worldwide disappearance of the oceans’ fish.
