Compliments of the season everyone! We’ve just passed 2015 and now enjoying the first few weeks of 2016! As we look back into the year, it has truly been a fulfilling year for 2015 with lots of promising and excellent series that never fail to satisfy us anime lovers. As we all know with many cool main characters that succeeded in making the anime a phenomenon, there’s always the vital role of the supporting characters that will help the story and plot progression. So here are the Top 10 Supporting Characters of 2015! Enjoy!
10. Ginti from Death Parade

- Aired: Jan 10, 2015 to Mar 28, 2015
Death Parade is an anime about having the pass judgment on a human after-death through a series of death defying games. Often times pushed to the extremes so that the humans would reveal their true emotions. The anime gives off a melancholic nuance, as the games takes place in a classic bar and was prompt by the bar owner who is also the arbiter (judge).
Ginti is an arbiter in the Death Parade series, who is the caretaker of the Viginti bar. In the series, Ginti is often times seen hot headed and prone to violence as he is much short tempered than Decim. He feels arbiters are inferior to humans, and he makes clear of that. It was seen on episode 5 where Ginti engaged in a combat fight with Decim, after disguising as a young boy and successfully made the human's unconscious. It was shown that Ginti has the ability to control water orbs that he keeps inside his Kokeshi Dolls.

9. Hayama Hayato from Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. Zoku

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. Zoku is a romantic comedy anime sequel to the Oregairu series. It features Hikigaya Hachiman, a high school student loner who has a unique perspective of the society. He was forced to join the “Volunteer Service Club” to aid other students that came to them with requests that they would like to be fulfilled. Together with Yukinoshita Yukino as well as Yuigahama Yui, the three of them eventually developed a much closer bond with one another.
Hayama Hayato is what people call as ‘the cool kids’ in the days. He appears to be well groomed and puts up a friendly demeanor towards people in general. And as the captain of the soccer club, it was the ‘cherry on top’ for him to be the perfect guy that every girl dreams about. On the Second Season, Hayama revealed that he wants to stop living up to other people’s high expectation of him. It was also hinted that Hayato might have a crush on Yukinoshita Yukino.
8. Crowley from Owari no Seraph

Hyakuya Yuuichirou, a young child that was kept as livestock by vampires dreamt of killing them. The vampires risen from the darkness to enslave all of humanity after a mysterious apocalypse caused by an unknown virus that infected and killed every human passed the age of 13. Join Hyakuya and his journey to vanquish those vampires that threatened humanity!
As the Thirteenth Progenitor of the Vampires, Crowley Eusford has a very calm and cool demeanor. He doesn’t crack under pressure or in the heat of battle, a notable trait made him a cool character. His sole motivation for his actions seems to be things that interests him, as it was shown in the series that he decided to join the Ferid Bathory's faction because he believes Ferid’s actions were interesting to him.
7. Ebisu from Noragami Aragoto

In Noragami, the world consists of human beings and spirits, deities and gods. Yato, the God of Calamity that dreams of being a successful god with tons of shrine maidens at his disposal. He used to be feared by many as his past was revealed that he could be very cruel and merciless at times, one of which he killed some of Lady Bishamon’s Shinki.
Ebisu is the God of Fishing and Business of the 7 Gods of Luck. In the series, when he went down to the Underworld, it was revealed that he has good intentions to help the human world and all his past reincarnations. Hearing the claims, Yato decides to help Ebisu by destroying the Pacification Ring but ultimately still failed to save Ebisu. Ebisu was killed by the Heavens.
6. Inspector Zenigata from Lupin III

Arsene Lupin is the renowned world-class thief. Being the grandson of the late Arsène Lupin, he possesses incredible intelligence when it comes to plotting a heist. Often times considered a fool and aloof, Lupin takes advantage of this as his charade to hide his true motives. Even though there have been several occasions where Lupin gets himself in jail, he always manages to slip away from the authorities with the help from his gang.
Inspector Zenigata is a detective obsessed with apprehending Lupin. He first met Lupin during his attempt to capture Fujiko Mino, one of Lupin’s gang in New York. From there, Zenigata left the Japanese Police force to join ICPO (Interpol) to be one step closer in capturing Lupin. It was shown in the series that Lupin at times admires Zenigata’s resilience as he was the only one that could keep up with him.
5. Beerus from Dragon Ball Super

- Aired: Jul 5, 2015 to Ongoing
Dragon Ball Super is the continuation of the story for the Dragonball Series. The series picks up after the defeat of Majin Boo, and Earth has claimed back its peace. But it was short-lived as Beerus, “the God of Destruction” appeared and threatens the peaceful livelihood of Earth. Now, it’s up to Goku and his gang to save their planet from being destroyed by Beerus.
Beerus the Destroyer, takes form of a humanoid with a cat-like head and has purple skin pigment all over his body. Being the God of Destruction, his reputation precedes him. Widely known and feared, Beerus will not hesitate to destroy other people’s planets without a second thought making him a formidable foe for Goku to face.
4. Karma Akabane from Assassination Classroom

- Aired: Jan 10, 2015 to Jun 20, 2015
The students of class 3-E of Kunugigaoka Middle School were forced to be taught by Koro Sensei, a mysterious alien who blasted the moon to a permanently crescent shape. The main goal was to assassinate the alien itself. The students were taught combat skills and tactics that would aid them in assassinating Koro Sensei using a special rubber-like component that’s harmless to humans yet fatal to the alien.
Karma Akabane is one of the students of the class 3-E. Smart, intelligent, manipulative, and cunning, Karma Akabane is one of the few students that successfully injured Koro Sensei. He may come off as a slacker during class and school, sometimes skipping classes, but rest assured he still is able to maintain the 4th rank out of 186 students in all of Kunugigaoka.
3. Mumen Rider from One Punch Man

- Aired: Oct 5, 2015 to Dec 21, 2015
In a world where heroes and monsters exists, Saitama decides to become a hero out of hobby. After a 3 year intensive training, he starts to lose hair making him bald, but in return he gained incredible superhuman strength, speed and agility making him one of the strongest heroes ever existed. He is always seen laid back whenever some strong monsters attack the city, and never fails to defeat them with only one punch due to his overpower-ness.
Mumen Rider first met Saitama when he offered him a bicycle ride to the area where the Sea King was wreaking havoc. Even though Mumen Rider seems to possess no power whatsoever, he isn’t the type to give up easily even though the opponents are far stronger than he is. He works very hard to live up the duties of becoming a C-Class hero (Currently Rank 1). Even though it was revealed by the Hero Association that Mumen Rider was able to move up to B-Class hero, Mumen Rider refused and decides to stay on the C-Class hero.
2. Ikumi Mito from Shokugeki no Souma

When Yukihira Souma’s father decides to close up their family restaurant, Souma was sent to Tootsuki Culinary Academy, an elite cooking school where only 10% of their students are able to graduate. Souma has to face numerous other students in a cooking showdown called “Shokugeki” or “Food Wars”, for him to be able to reach his goal and graduate from that elite school.
Somewhere along the line, Souma met Ikumi Mito who was also a student of the Tootsuki Culinary Academy. Ikumi Mito came from the prestigious Mito family which specializes in meat (beef) hence earning her the nickname “Meat Master” or “The Meat General”. Despite being a girl, Ikumi developed a bold and intimidating personality towards people around her. This can be seen in the series as she tries to intimidate Souma by challenging him to a “Shokugeki”. After trying out Souma’s Chaliapin Steak Don and losing the Shokugeki, Ikumi Mito mellowed out and became a much gentler person.
1. Akashi Seijuro from Kuroko no Basket 3rd Season

“The Teiko Middle School basketball team. In its history, there were five once-in-a-decade prodigies in one year, the “Generation of Miracles”. Ryota Kise. Shintaro Midorima. Daiki Aomine. Atsushi Murasakibara. Seijuro Akashi. And the menace standing against them was Seirin High School. With its shadow… and light. “
Following the story of season 3, Akashi Seijuro is the former captain of the “Generation of Miracles” and currently taking the position as captain of Rakuzan High School basketball team. It was revealed later in the series that Akashi used to warm and kind but after the battle with Murasakibara during his time at Teiko Middle School, something in him snapped unleashing the ‘other’ Akashi and awakened his Emperor Eye. After the re-awakening of the real Akashi, he was able to draw out the full potential of his teammates by enabling their teammates to enter the Zone.
After losing the Winter Cup, Akashi was seen back to his normal self again, as showed on the photo given by Momoi, Akashi was seen playing basketball again with his old teammates as his old bonds rekindled.
