What You Need to Know:
- Likely to be one of the most highly anticipated reveals of 2020, the PlayStation 5 is finally going to be showcased this coming Thursday, June 11th from 1:00pm Pacific time (9:00pm BST). This is unfortunate for people living in Japan however, as this time translates to 5:00am JST which is extremely early for many.
- Be that as it may, this is pretty huge news for gamers since Sony had initially planned to reveal the PS5 earlier, but due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the giant company decided to push things back to stay safe. This of course created an advantage for rival Microsoft, who already showcased not only their latest next-gen console, the Xbox Series X, but also games that will be headed to the platform.
- The last real "showcase" we received from Sony about the PlayStation 5 was nothing to write home about, as much of what was shown was merely tech specs that a vast majority of gamers likely know nothing about, and likely could care less.
- So right now there's a lot on the line for Sony because they really need to give us something big, but not only that, they need to reveal the console as well as what titles we're expecting to see dropping on launch day. Lots of speculation is roaming around online as to what will be shown, but right now we're holding our tongue until we see something. What are your thoughts, and what are you looking forward to seeing? Let us know!
I'm really just hoping that their launch titles are worth the buy for a $500 console.
Well, Sony knows now that they have a lot to prove, especially with Microsoft in the lead.
