- On the homepage, the fans can also enjoy promotional videos such as the “WT100 Commemorative PV” trailer and a live-action teaser looking back at the series called “ONE PIECE 1000 LOGS” as well as news pertaining to the 1000th episode, live poll updates, global results, and final poll results. Additional promotions to be announced at a later date.
- In Weekly Shonen Jump Magazine combined issues #3 and #4 and combined issues #5 and #6, the cover art will feature a special double spread (the two covers will combine into one big image) with Luffy in the center while other serial artists draw their own characters alongside their favorite ONE PIECE character.
- Shueisha hopes that fans will enjoy seeing many popular Jump authors such as (Author of “BUILD KING”) Mitsutoshi Shimabukuro’s version of Gaimon, (Author of “My Hero Academia”) Kohei Horikoshi’s version of Don Krieg, (Author of “Dr. Stone”) Boichi’s version of Ace, and (Author of “Jujutsu Kaisen”) Gege Akutami’s version of Arlong.
- The two issues will also include posters that, when combined, will be the biggest insert poster in Weekly Shonen Jump history (847 mm x 620 mm). Fans can enjoy newly drawn art by Author Eiichiro Oda. The back of the poster will include all of the memorable moments up until their 1000th episode.
- Shueisha is currently working on collaboration projects with other Shueisha imprints such as “Ribon” and “Bessatsu Margaret,” their shoujo manga magazines, their women’s fashion magazine “MORE,” and their sports magazine “Sportiva.” Details on these collaborations can be found on each of the participating magazines or their social media accounts and the official “ONE PIECE 1000 LOGS” campaign homepage.
- Shueisha plans to release volumes 1-71 of ONE PIECE’s manga for free on the “Shonen Jump +” and “ZEBRACK” mobile apps. This would be the largest amount of free manga volumes this title has ever seen. These manga volumes will follow Luffy and Co’s adventures from where it all started in the “East Blue Arc” all the way to the beginning of the “Dressrosa Arc.”

"1000 Chapters!!
I, uh, wow…Words pretty much fail to describe the whirlwind these past 23 years have been. Literally half of my life has revolved around the almighty ‘WEEKLY SERIALIZATION’ hehe. But it’s not just me, Luffy and the Strawhats have navigated themselves to so many different islands and found themselves caught up in so many adventures. At this point, even I’m not sure how many lives they’ve touched along the way!
But it’s thanks to them that so many special people have entered my own life; first and foremost among them being my family. All of these people have supported me through the years and I am deeply indebted to each of them. Meanwhile, my readers have been leading their own bustling lives. There’s a certain theory that exists for long-term readership in the entertainment world that states, “A given pool of readers will rotate out of a series after five years.” And so for a while now, I’ve avoided calling my readers, ‘fans’.
It’s like they say, “Pride cometh before a fall.” I convinced myself that I shouldn’t get too full of myself because my readers would eventually leave the series and move on with their lives. Let me say that all of you have put me to shame for thinking such a thing. Your belief in Luffy has led me to believe in all of you, and that is what allows me to continue drawing exactly the kind of manga I want to draw. So here we are, ready to dip our toes into the final stages of the story. It’s taken us a long time to reach one thousand chapters. However, it’s because I’ve completed a thousand chapters that you must believe I’ll take us to the end. The story waiting for you will defy expectations! I mean it!!
I have a favor to ask. This is for everyone with whom —by some means or another— I’ve managed to create a bond, in other words, the ONE PIECE FANS of the world! My story is a long one. But for just a while longer, please watch over Luffy and his crew as they continue their adventure!”

About ONE PIECE
STORY: ONE PIECE is a nautical adventure series telling the story of a young boy named Monkey
D. Luffy and his friends who set sail on an adventure in search of the great “One Piece Lost Treasure of Gold Roger.” Luffy has the special ability to stretch his body like rubber from eating a type of Devil Fruit called the “Gum Gum Fruit.” With his crew of the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy travels along the Grand Line in search of the treasure that will grant him the title of Pirate King.
BACKGROUND: ONE PIECE is a Japanese comic series created by Eiichiro Oda serialized in the world-renowned weekly Shonen manga anthology, “Weekly Shonen Jump” published by Shueisha Inc. The series debuted in the 34th issue in 1997 and celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2017. Since its debut, ONE PIECE has broken several publishing records in Japan and abroad. In 2010, the first edition of the 57th volume printed 3 million copies, the highest number of copies published in the history of Japanese publishing. This record was only broken in 2012 with the 67th volume with 4.05 million copies. On April 3, 2020 the 96th volume’s cumulative circulation exceeded 470 million editions worldwide with more than 390 million in Japan and over 80 million copies in 42 countries and regions around the globe. The series was also officially listed in the Guinness World Records as “The most copies published for the same comic book series by a single author.” The series has seen numerous adaptations since its launch. An animation adaptation has been airing on the Fuji TV broadcast network since 1999. The feature film, “ONE PIECE STAMPEDE” released in August of 2019, saw over 5.5 billion yen in Japanese box office revenue and 10 million yen worldwide. Currently, there is a live-action drama project underway in Hollywood.
