Discussion Time
We’ve come to a big moment in Yakusoku no Neverland, folks! Chapter 140 has some initial moments showing a grand festival for the demons and discussing some past events with a demon. However, the true epic moment of this chapter comes from Ray and Emma finding a black hole that they theorize will lead them to the grand demon. Our kids touch the portal and instantly are split apart. Ray ends up back home while Emma ends up meeting our greater demon who tells her only she was really able to make it there. According to it, Ray had the potential to teleport there but didn’t believe he could without a doubt which, in turn, led to him being left behind. Our greater demon makes a remark about Emma’s brain being delicious but Emma isn’t afraid and wishes immediately to make a new promise between the two races! With her heart unafraid, Emma stands in front of a demon that clearly is stronger than all the others. Overall, chapter 140 of Yakusoku no Neverland begins what could possibly be the end of the series. If Emma makes her wish and things change, the only real threats will be those hell bent on keeping the systems at play the same. We have so many thoughts and opinions on future chapters, but for now, let’s discuss why you absolutely need to read chapter 140 without any delay!
1. Meeting of Human and Demon
Emma and her meeting with the weird named greater demon was destined to happen, but seeing it actually unfold was a highlight of this series. Emma has always been the front runner of Yakusoku no Neverland and standing where she is now proves it completely. Can Emma make this demon change a system that has been in play for a remarkable amount of time? We know we’ll be finding out soon, but the anticipation of it will be what makes us crave chapter 141!
2. The New Promise?
Outside the meeting, we wonder what will Emma really promise to our demon overlord? As it is now, the demons and humans have peace—sort of—because they cater to each other’s wishes at the sacrifice of human children. Will Emma completely remove the demons’ only source of food which in turn keeps them human-like? Our theory is that Emma will beg the demons to find a new source of food and allow the two worlds to reunite. We could be completely wrong, but only time will tell.
