Discussion Time
Yakusoku no Neverland was action heavy this week and we loved it! Emma and Ray are speeding through the capital to get to their friend Norman but keep finding the path to him blocked by dead end after dead end. Luckily, they find a singular passageway, but only Emma is able to go thanks to the assistance of Ray. Outside our kids pursuit, Geelan and his allies are facing down the royal demons and finding themselves getting slaughtered like sheep. Despite their deaths left and right, Geelan's clan continue to show their loyalty to their lord and die fighting as best as they can. The queen, however, is too much and, despite their efforts, most of Geelan's allies fall. We end out 149th chapter with a final desperate strike to end the queen in the form of a suicide bombing from our fallen demons. Will this surprise attack be enough to defeat the queen? Our minds say no, but we've been wrong before.
1. Emma Going In Alone?
Seeing how Emma needed Ray to be kick boosted up in the air, we have to wonder. Is Emma going to battle—not literally a fight mind you—Norman by herself? Emma has proven herself to be smart and tactful despite her silly attitude so she might be the only one able to bring down the scarily intelligent Norman. Yet, what lengths is Norman willing to go for his goal to be accomplished?
2. Loyalty to the Death!
Geelan has been shown to be an honest—as honest as a demon can be—leader which should be reflected by his underlings. Despite their death at the queen's hand, Geelan's troops continued to fight for him remembering how they believed in their leader when everyone else didn't. That was such a powerful showing of his leadership and it ended up being a powerful scene for this 149th chapter.
Final Thoughts
Yakusoku no Neverland chapter 149 was a powerful action heavy chapter and we loved every second of it. Geelan continues his assault, but his team clearly isn't going to be able to face down the royal demons with ease. Emma is now alone heading towards Norman and that could spell trouble if Ray doesn't catch up. What do you think will happen next in Yakusoku no Neverland? Let us know in the comments below.
