The 4th season of Yami Shibai.

This is a horror short story anime, that depicts various strange urban legends that happen all around us. Using a now-rarely-seen “paper picture show” style, this Showa-esque is sure to be a thriller!

Yami Shibai 4th season is the sequel to the third season which aired in Winter 2016. The story is told from the perspective of a narrator but you are placed directly into the story. They are all horror stories. Some will be creepy and some are just plain weird. They are episodic in nature. The first story was about a man who buried a dead cat, but then it came back to haunt him. The second is about some middle schoolers who go into an old house and one is sucked into a murky fish tank. The third is about a girl who moves into an apartment and finds what appears to be a curse under her flooring. She discards it only to be visited by the top half of a head in the dream, and then later, the rest of the body at the very end. Of course the series will not tell you exactly what happens as that is how Japanese horror works, but overall it is an enjoyable few minutes that tells a story you may not otherwise hear nor know of. The only downside to this series is the ending song which is some upbeat singer with a guitar. It totally kills the mood right after the punch line is delivered, but it is not enough to make us stop watching the series! Horror series done right are rare so enjoy!
