What You Need to Know:
- After many obstacles, mostly pandemic-related, the restart of the Zombieland Saga franchise was announced 7/17, confirming the release of the upcoming 2nd season of the anime titled "Zombieland Saga: Revenge" as well as an upcoming stage play, "Zombieland Saga: Stage de Dawn", opening in September 2020 and the release of a fan-book.
- The play was set to take place in March but was cancelled because of the pandemic and the project in general had to hit the breaks, including the 2nd season production and work on the fan-book.
- Director Munehisha Sakai said today that "The Zombieland Saga" project isn't over!" And was proud to announce that the stage play cast will be joining Zombieland Saga: Revenge.
- A fan-book will also release which will contain episode introductions and song descriptions, all "Francheche" cast and interviews with staff members, including as Sakai. The book will also include a project with Denpagumi.inc, whose collaboration was announced the other day.
- "Zombieland Saga" is a unique zombie-idol anime following a group of legendary girls who became zombies debuting as idols and saving Saga Prefecture. Broadcasted from October to December 2018, it attracted a lot of attention and received numerous awards such as the Anime General Election 2018 Annual Award and the Anime Award Work Award (TV animation category).
