3 Reincarnation Manga to Drop Everything for and Read

Almost everyone can empathize with the desire to do things over. That’s the kind of feeling reincarnation manga try to capitalize on. It definitely works in some cases, and they make for some highly enjoyable reads. Here are three reincarnation manga you should be reading and why.

1. Tensei Ouji wa Daraketai

  • Authors: Asahina, Nagomu
  • Genres: Comedy, Fantasy, Slice of Life
  • Volumes: 1
  • Published: January 2018 - Ongoing

An overworked Japanese employee, Haruto died and was reborn as Phil Graceheart, a pampered noble’s son doted upon by almost everyone. Seeing this as his second chance to finally be lazy, Phil tries to be as plain and simple as possible. Unfortunately for Phil, the gods had other plans as they blessed him with so many skills that they make it impossible for him not to stand out as some sort of miracle child.

First, Phil made the dreaded magical beast of legend his pet and named him Kuro. Then, he forged a contract with a wind spirit, something humans thought impossible. He also talks to creatures that nobody else can hear the voices of. His family is starting to suspect that something is up, but they’re more in awe than anything. But if things keep going as they have, he’s not going to be able to lie around doing nothing. We love seeing the new things Phil does with his powers and the conflict it brings him, and we think you will too.

2. Goodbye! Isekai Tensei

  • Authors: Saitou, Kenji
  • Genres: Action, Adventure, Harem, Comedy
  • Volumes: 3
  • Published: December 2017 - Ongoing

This isn’t your typical isekai story by any means. The princess is trying to run the hero over with a truck, while the demon lord is desperately trying her best to protect him. Everyone seems to know exactly what’s going on except for the would-be hero, Yuuya Kamigasaki, because he hasn’t reincarnated yet. In order to make sure he reincarnates and kills the demons interfering with her plans, princess Angelia has come to make sure Yuuya gets isekai’d pronto by using every manga trope in the book.

Luckily for Yuuya, he has a whole host of demon army generals watching his back. While Angelia is drastically overpowered compared to the weakened demon lord and her forces after coming to our world, Yuuya is gaining his strength quickly. A reincarnation story that bucks the usual trend, this manga has us hooked with its setting and developments.

3. Nozomanu Fushi no Boukensha (The Unwanted Immortal Adventurer)

  • Authors: Okano, Yuu
  • Genres: Action, Adventure, Fantasy, Mystery
  • Volumes: 3
  • Published: November 2017 - Ongoing

An elite adventurer, Lent knew he was weak, that’s why he worked smarter than everyone else. But he worked alone, and despite being a staple of wisdom in the guild, he died alone without anyone even knowing. A colossal dragon devoured him and spit his soul out into the body of a skeleton. Restarting his life as the weakest of monsters, he’s slowly getting stronger as he defeats more and more monsters like himself.

Lent wasn’t transported to another world, he just lost his life and body. Now he’s gaining it all back and more while pretending to be someone new. He’s only told a few who he can trust about his new immortal monster body. To everyone else, he’s a masked adventurer who can take on floor bosses solo. We’re loving this dark fantasy manga that leaves us amazed at just what this protagonist can do in his quest for answers.
