The murder of his sister sends our protagonist, Tooru Kokonoe, to Kouryou Academy, a high school where students train to become peacekeepers with weapons manifested from their souls. Fueled by hatred and revenge, Tooru is dismayed when he discovered that his soul manifests not as a weapon, but as a shield instead.
And so begins an anime chock-full of cute girls, fan service, random fights, awkward sexual situations and just enough mystery to keep things fresh. Though it may seem like another “high school boy gets a harem due to his unique power” anime, the underlying mystery regarding the tragic pasts of the two main characters and its link to the current unfolding antagonistic events keeps you watching till the very end.
Here are 6 more animes that might interest you if cute girls, weird powers and action are just your thing!

4. Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu (Baka and Test - Summon the Beasts)
- Episodes: 13
- Aired: January 2010 – April 2010
The story centers around Akihisa Yoshii, the "baka" of the title, and unlike our other titles in this list where the protagonist pretends to be an idiot, he really is one. He attends Fumizuki Academy, where the staff rigidly divides the students based on the results of their academic scores, and assign benefits based on it. The higher the grade, the better the class and classroom, the better the benefits
The school happens to have developed experiments to summon fantasy creatures, and the anime revolves around Akihisa and the F class as they try to take on the higher-tiered classes and seize their perks an all-out battle for school supremacy. Full of slapstick humour, ecchi, plot twists, more blood spilled than Attack on Titan and a warm overarching theme about true friendship and love, this is one of my favourites in this list.

5. Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darouka(Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?)
- Episodes: 13
- Aired: April 2015 – June 2015
Widely known for invading the internet with the “blue ribbon underboobs”, Danjon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darō ka –or DanMachi for short– takes place in the city of Orario, a huge labyrinth in the underground. Its strange name attracts excitement, illusions of honor, and hopes of romance with a pretty girl.
In this city of dreams and desires, new adventurer Bell Cranel has his fateful encounter with the tiny Goddess Hestia. A light hearted comedy about a boy striving to become the best adventurer and a lonely goddess searching for followers, both working together to fulfill their goals. With an increasingly heavy plot and a fresh take on friendship and “the meaning of getting stronger”, you tend to forget it’s supposed to be a comedy/ecchi anime.
