For Melida Angel life hasn’t been easy, despite being part of one of the few noble families in the city of Flandore. At 13 years old, she’s yet to manifest her mana, a power that will help to keep mankind safe from lycanthropes that lurk beyond the dome that protects Flandore. To help her, her parents have hired a tutor, Kufa Vampyr, who will help her to manifest her powers, or kill her if she fails.
Assassins Pride has a lot of interesting plots: What is left of mankind has to live separated from the planet is always a good reason to have great world building, and the relationship between a teacher and his student when the teacher may have to harm the student because of a tradition is also interesting. So, what other series have similar plot elements, but still completely different stories? Well, that’s what we’re going to talk about today. Here are 6 anime like Assassins Pride!
Similar Anime to Assassins Pride
1. Little Witch Academia
- Episodes: 25
- Aired: January 2017 – June 2017
Atsuko Kagari, known by her friends as Akko, wants nothing more than to be a witch, just like her idol Shiny Chariot. Unfortunately for Akko, she seems to have no magic at all. Still, Akko doesn't give up and enrolls in the Luna Nova Magical Academy determined to make her dreams come true. And thanks to discovering the Shiny Rod, Shiny Chariot's wand in the school, she just might be able to do it.
Same as Assassins Pride, Little Witch Academia deals with a magical school, a student who seems to have no powers and thus has to use her wits to advance, and a mentor with a secret. While the tone of both series is quite different, as Akko's life is not in danger—at least not from her teachers—, the main theme is very similar and this is a great way to see how the same basic plot can change completely from one genre to another.

2. Terra e...
- Episodes: 24
- Aired: April 2007 – September 2007
Evolution and change are part of life, but some people don’t like that. This is why when humanity reached the stars and started to evolve, the new race, called Mu, are seen as freaks, persecuted and feared due to their powers. So the Mu dream of a place where they can live in peace, away from their torturers and the computers that control their life: the legendary star called Earth.
Once again, we have a series where mankind is facing extinction and is no longer living on Earth and a main character who could be killed for not being "biologically adequate", so to speak. Both Jomy and Melida have a mysterious mentor, and both Kafe and Soldier Blue choose to risk themselves for their wards. While the resolution to their conflicts is very different, it’s also a great series if you enjoyed the mystery part of Assassins Pride.
3. Mahouka Kouko no Rettousei (The Irregular at Magic High School)
- Episodes: 26
- Aired: April 2014 – September 2014
When humanity figured out how to mix magic with technology, they decided to systematically teach it to everyone who had some sort of ability for it. Once the students enroll in the First High School, they are divided according to their scores into "Blooms", with high scores and thus powerful abilities, and "Weeds", with lower scores who are considered practically useless. Tatsuya Shiba got scores so low that people found it hard to believe that he was related to Miyuki, his sister who became a Bloom easily. But despite being a Weed, Tatsuya shows that with his technical knowledge he is not to be taken lightly.
Magical Highschools were students are divided by potential rather than by merit are similar both in Mahouka Kouko no Rettousei and Assassins Pride. But what really makes both series alike is that their main characters manage to defy classification by thinking outside the box and creating their unique form of magic to face the challenges that their society presents.

4. Kyoukaisenjou no Horizon (Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere)
- Episodes: 13
- Aired: October 2011 – December 2011
Mankind managed to leave Earth for the stars, but when they came back to the planet, Earth had become inhospitable for the most part. Unfortunately, war breaks out between the different cities, and now the original Japanese population lives as refugees in the city-ship Musashi. But Toori Aoi, a student at the Musashi Ariadust Academy wants to lead his fellow students in a battle to make Japan their home again.
Just like Assassins Pride, Kyoukaienjou no Horizon presents us with the complications in a society where mankind has their space limited compared to the modern times, and where it's the youngest generation who has to deal with the problems created by the older one. Some secrets complicate the situation the main characters find themselves in, so Kyoukaisenjou no Horizon is a good series to watch while you wait for the next Assassins Pride episode.

Final Thoughts
There are some amazing stories to be told with the premise of a society completely isolated from the outside world, or with the premise of secret powers held by just part of the population. And these six series, together with Assassins Pride, show us how different creative teams can take the same general idea and make completely original stories, with only some similarities between each other.
But let us know, what series from the list have you seen? Which ones are your favorites? Have you seen Assassins Pride? If so, what do you think of the series? Let us know in the comments below!
