The Samurai Warriors series has run for quite some time acting as a samurai themed game in comparison to the Chinese themes found in the Dynasty Warriors series. Samurai Warriors 4 adds a bevy of new modes, characters and gameplay tweaks that will keep longtime fans of the franchise quite happy and busy as they once more slice up thousands of opposing samurai forces. Have you grown tired of controlling titular heroes like Zhao Yun and Cao Pi? Well then why not try out the heroes of Samurai Warrior 4 and see how they compare in the long run.

Have you ever wished to take control of Guts from the Berserk manga/anime series? Well then, you’re in luck as Berserk and the Band of the Hawk lets you do just that. Players will follow the story of Guts from the Golden Age Arc all the way through to some of the more recent arcs such as the Millennium Empire Arc. We have always found a lot of love for Kentaro Miura’s Berserk franchise and have continued to support the series as best as we could. That’s why when Berserk and the Band of the Hawk released we immediately found ourselves picking up a copy and losing ourselves in visceral gameplay that mirrors the Berserk series. With tons of maps, different gameplay modes and the ability to use the Berserker Armor—which is amazing by the way—Berserk and the Band of the Hawk should be a must buy for not only fans of the long running Berserk series but those who love the hack and slash gameplay found in the Dynasty Warriors series. See how it feels to play as the true Black Swordsman and wield his massive blade in this excellent hack and slash title.

Get ready Zelda fans. Link and his allies are about to enter a very different world in this hack and slash game titled Hyrule Warriors. Acting as a separate story to the Zelda franchise, players assume the role of several heroes from the Zelda franchise such as Link, Sheik, Impa and many more. Arm yourself with their weapons and play styles and roam around on large battlefields as you lay waste to hundreds of enemies taken from the various Zelda titles before. The story and stakes are different in Hyrule Warriors but that doesn’t mean you should expect any less thrills or excitement that the Zelda franchise has been known for in past alliterations.

Featuring single player and online play, you can take on the Titan army alone or with several friends and face the horrific threat together. Enter the world of Attack on Titan and prove your worth as you go through several chapters of the Attack on Titan story starting from the beginning.

Here at Honey’s Anime HQ, we love when Koei Tecmo takes beloved franchises and makes them into hack and slash titles. Though one of our absolute favorite games in this venue has to be Attack on Titan. Instead of just reading or watching Eren and his fellow human survives fight Titans in various locations you now get to control them and fight the Titans yourself. You can even go into Eren’s Titan form and decimate other Titans with the strength and power only a Titan can manage. With stunning graphics an incredible original score and online play, Attack on Titan is an excellent game for those who love Dynasty Warriors. Though we won’t lie folks, seeing a Titan on the show being killed is scary but doing it yourself in game takes some getting used to. Though once you master the simple controls you’ll find yourself killing hundreds of Titans as if you were born for the gameplay that is seen in Attack on Titan.

Fire Emblem Warriors take the turn based strategic combat seen in the previous core series and removes it for a more action based title. Players will enter a new story where they will be able to control various warriors of the Fire Emblem series such as Marth, Chrom, Lyndis and Cordelia to just name a few. Decimate enemies on various landscapes using traditional hack and slash gameplay known from developers Omega Force and Team Ninja but with some added tweaks echoing the gameplay of Fire Emblem titles. Grab Fire Emblem Warriors for either the Nintendo Switch or New Nintendo 3DS and control the fight as you show off your sword skills. Save the world from the evil King Ozosid and travel across dimensions in Fire Emblem Warriors!

If you thought the only Nintendo title that was like Dynasty Warriors was Hyrule Warriors well we have something to prove otherwise. Fire Emblem Warriors allows fans of the Nintendo owned series the ability to take control of some of the more popular characters from the Fire Emblem franchise and defeat enemies in the same vein as most of the Dynasty Warriors games. With beautiful art that captures the feeling seen in Fire Emblem games, Fire Emblem Warriors might not be a traditional turn based affair but still feels very much like it thanks to various gameplay mechanics seen within the game. Whether you get Fire Emblem Warriors for your Nintendo Switch or New Nintendo 3DS be prepared for one heck of an amazing game. Should it be a Dynasty Warriors title or should it be a Samurai Warriors title? This question occurred to us multiple times. That’s why we knew the best solution was to use both franchises in the form of Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate.
