Akane is an otaku and she is proud of it.  She doesn't try to hide most of otaku related passions from her friends and she fully embraces her love for her hobbies. While she does poorly try to hide the fact that she is a fujoshi, it is still nice to see a character who isn't embarrassed by their hobbies and isn't scared to let people know about it.

One day, Akane hopes to make it as a manga artist. Although her art isn't the best, she still works hard in hopes of one day achieving her goal. She doesn't shy away from telling people about her dreams and even when people suggest she should find a more realistic goal, it only pushes her to work harder. 

Akane cares deeply for her friends and she is able to get along with anybody. Akane's personality allows her to maintain friendships with people like the hyperactive Nozomu and the strange and emotionless Shiori. While she can sometimes come off as being a bit col, she still cares for the relationships she has and is there to support her friends whenever they need her.

Whenever we see her outside of school, Akane always has a new stylish outfit. She often changes up her clothes and her hairstyle never settling on one specific look. With each new look we get to see another cute design for Akane all for our viewing pleasure.

One of Akane's best moments is when she finds out the truth about Teishotoku-P. Akane fell in love with the Vocaloid producer Teishotoku-P, and uses his work to push her forward as she tries to become a manga artist. After finding out Teishotoku-P was actually her teacher, Akane was disappointed, but with a few days to think about, she realizes her feelings are still the same. This revelation gives her even more motivation and it ultimately pushes her to enter her manga into a contest
