Amazon Removes J-Novel Club Manga and Light Novels, More Likely to Follow

What You Need to Know:

  • J-Novel Club announced last night in a tweet that the entirety of several of their series will no longer be carried on Amazon Kindle.
  • The series affected so far are The Greatest Magicmaster's Retirement Plan, I Shall Survive Using Potions, How Not to Summon a Demon Lord, and Clockwork Planet.
  • Pending orders for books from those series were even forcibly cancelled by Amazon.
  • While some series are a bit ecchi, others, like "I will Survive Using Potions", are pretty tame, sparking confusion and theories among fans as to what the reason would be.
  • When J-Novel Club reached Amazon for an explanation, they could not give an exact reason as to why the titles were removed.
  • The series are still available on Amazon in Japan, however, making it clear that this is Wester-centric censoring.
  • **UPDATE**
The following non J-Novel series have also been removed:
    - No Game No Life (Light Novel) - Yen Press
    - Oreimo (Light Novel) - Dark Horse Comics
    - Eromanga Sensei (Light Novel) - Dark Horse Comics
