After being sent to exile on Tsutsushima Island, Kamakura samurai Jinzaburou Kuchii must now cross swords with the Mongolian Army!

Honestly this series is not amazing, but not bad by any means. Unlike many other ‘historical’ anime, the series is actually based on a real battle that did occur on a real island. The first three episodes have moved rather quickly and we have surprisingly gotten quite a few bloody fights. We really liked what we have seen so far as it feels more Samurai Champloo/House of Five Leaves rather than something like Arslan Senki. Angolmois is not some heart-stopping show that is out of this world amazing, but it’s still a decent watch and a definitely different show compared to other anime on air this season, so we will keep watching.

Jinzaburou Kuchii

Voice Actor: Yuuki Ono

Jinzaburou is a lower-ranking vassal of a Kamakura samurai banished into exile after he causes an incident. In order to stop the invasion of the Mongolian Army, he is exiled to fight on Tsutsushima Island. He is a user of the sword art Gikeiryuu as a descendent of Yoshitsune Minamoto. He is able to understand the progress of a battle even when he doesn't have the upper hand, and he guides the fight from the front lines.

Teruhi

Voice Actor: Lynn

Teruhi is the daughter of the medieval land steward, Sou Sukekuni. She's so beautiful that everyone is captivated by her. Using Jinzaburou who has been sent as a criminal, she is trying to defend Tsutsushima from the Mongols. Teruhi is a heroic princess who uses a bow and isn't scared to head towards the battlefield.

Onitakemaru

Voice Actor: Rikiya Koyama

Onitakemaru is a former pirate. He was captured by Jinzaburou and imprisoned. After that, he somehow ends up on Tsushima Island. He has a massive body and wields an iron club with which he dominates his enemies.

Kazuhisa Shiraishi

Voice Actor: Kenji Nomura

Kazuhisa is a wanderer who has drifted to Tsushima Island. He has a calm disposition and thus is trusted. He’s a former Jitou (land steward) and thus is an expert at horseback swordsmanship.

Chouminpuku

Voice Actor: Shirou Saitou

Chouminpuku is another wanderer who has drifted to Tsushima Island. He declares that he used to be a celebrated merchant of post town, Hakozaki.

Amushi

Voice Actor: Shun Horie

Amushi is another wanderer who has ended up on Tsushima Island. Making the best of his light body and ability to see in the dark, he spies from the shadows making him possess an essential fighting skill.

Hitari

Voice Actor: Ryouta Takeuchi

Hitari is a wanderer who has drifted to Tsushima Island. He’s a taciturn man of few words. Skilled with the bow, he excels at shooting down foes from far distances.

Douen

Voice Actor: Yuusuke Kobayashi

Douen is yet another wanderer who has ended up on Tsushima Island. He is a monk with abundant knowledge in both medicine and pharmacology.
