- Anime NYC powered by Crunchyroll, Vertical, and EVA Air today announced acclaimed Taiwanese illustrator VOFAN will participate in Anime NYC 2019 as an Official Guest. VOFAN is most known to US audiences as the cover illustrator for the Monogatari novel series written by NISIOISIN. Vertical, an imprint of Kodansha USA Publishing, publishes the Monogatari series in English and is also publishing a collection of VOFAN’s original art, titled COLORFUL DREAMS, just prior to this year’s Anime NYC. VOFAN’s flights are generously provided by EVA Air.
- VOFAN has crafted the cover art and interior illustrations to over 20 volumes of author NISIOISIN’s best-selling Monogatari novel series. The Monogatari story centers around high school student Koyomi Araragi and his encounters with vampires, ghosts, and other supernatural creatures. It has been adapted into an anime series, comic series, and three feature-length animated films.
- COLORFUL DREAMS, debuting in October, is a 96-page full-color art book collecting a wealth of VOFAN’s original, non-commercial works. VOFAN will appear at Anime NYC for panel discussions, live art workshops, and autograph sessions. Vertical will present a gallery of VOFAN’s work from their booth in the Anime NYC exhibition hall.
- Anime NYC will continue to announce more guests from around the world throughout the summer and fall, and attendees can look forward to the latest from sponsors, partners, and publishers including Crunchyroll, Animate, Aniplex of America, BANDAI NAMCO Arts, Funimation, GKIDS, HIDIVE, Kodansha Comics, Sentai Filmworks, Tokyo Otaku Mode, Vertical, VIZ Media, and Yen Press.
