Honey's Anime attended AnimeJapan 2017 held in Tokyo today (March 25th) as press, and this is one of short reports of stages we covered.
Fans of the Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica (Puella Magi Madoka Magica) series will be stoked about this one! Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica - Magia Record is the latest mobile game from Aniplex, which features some spectacular gameplay pertaining to role playing, and lots of magic spells from your favorite characters in the series. The event began with the announcer introducing each of the seiyuu who played a major role in the series. Newcomers to the series Momo Sakura and Ayane Sakura displayed just how excited they were to be a part of this series, while veteran Aoi Yuuki expressed her happiness to be a part of the project, being able to reprise her role as the main lead from the original series. After a brief introduction with the seiyuu, the three of them called upon Aniplex developer Yuusuke Toyama to take to the stage and discuss further details about the upcoming game.
Mr.Toyama started off by thanking everyone in attendance before diving in to discuss more details about the game relating to the game's setting, gameplay mechanics and its fresh story. We were really blown away by just how remarkably detailed the character designers were but moreso, how they looked in action during the short gameplay demos. Suddenly a surprise guest was announced and the game's character designer, Ume Aoki appeared on stage with a very interesting mask on her face, but went over the specifics pertaining to each character and what their purpose was in this extended story.
All of the characters introduced were from the original series which aired 10 years ago, and now make their appearance once again to wow fans in this exciting new adventure for smartphones. Ume Aoki went on to say that she designed over 10 mahou shoujo specifically for this game, in order for fans of the series to really enjoy the new experience.
Tamaki Iroha is the game's new heroine and she equips a hand bow gun to strike down her enemies, while her appearance is cute with long flowing pink hair. Mitsuki Felicia is described as a small dwarf girl who equips a powerful hammer and is very active in battle. Shortly after the character details were explained, Yuusuke Toyama was kind enough to show us more demo footage of the title which once again impressed us because of all the details that were shown on screen. A lot of designs were very high quality and the battle scenes within the game looked superb. We certainly look forward to hearing more about Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica - Magia Record in the coming months.
