Honey’s Highlights
A little bit of history, a little bit of art. I love it!
It looks like a genericfantasy romance anime, but at the same time it already feels so unique.
Three cheers for gender equality and women's empowerment! Girls can paint too!
Arte looks so cute and fragile, but she'll do everything just to be respected as a person and an artist.
Three Episode Impressions
Arte's first episodes help us understand how society treated both art and women in the 16th century. She's a noble girl who dreams of being an artist, always looking for things to draw and express herself. However, her parents are not so open-minded, and although Arte's father is the first to recognize her incredible talent, he still wants her to marry a wealthy man and live a simple life as a beautiful housewife. However, after the death of Arte's father, her only option is to run away from her house and convince any artist to take her in as an apprentice.
In these 3 episodes, we see how difficult it was for a girl with big dreams to be taken seriously, and just how stubborn and determined Arte is about her art. Apparently, love is going to play a big role in this story too, whether Arte ends up with her master Leo or her new friend Angelo. Another reason to watch this show is the beautiful Florentine scenery! All in all, Arte is definitely worthy of your time, so don't hesitate and give it a go as soon as you can.
