What You Need to Know:
- The official website and Twitter for the BEASTARS anime announced today that the second season will begin airing on Fuji TV's "+ Ultra", Netflix Japan, and other channels in January 2021! Stay tuned for release info outside of Japan.
- A key visual was also unveiled and depicts Legoshi and Louis glaring at each other reflected in the fragments of a broken mirror as well as Shishigumi organization which is one of the highlights of the second season.
- In addition, some of the cast and staff were also revealed. Pina will be played by Yuki Kaji (Shouto Todoroki in My Hero Academia), Ibuki will be played by Taiten Kusunoki (Leonardo Burns in Fire Force), and Free will be played by Subaru Kimura (Hoodlum in Akudama Drive), all of which will appear in the second season.
- BEASTARS exists in a world in which carnivores and herbivores co-exist and eating meat is considered a serious crime. At the famous boarding school, Cherryton Academy, students are being killed and consumed as “eating crimes” are occurring. As the academy is being drawn into unrest, Legoshi, a wolf and member of the drama club, lives a quiet life in contrast to his massive body and sharp fangs until one day, he meets a small female student who is a rabbit named Haru. This shakes his heart to the core. At the end of the first season, the Shishigumi criminal organization is introduced as the main villainous presence, as they run the black market for meat and the students—Legoshi, Haru, and Louis the deer—get involved in a life-or-death situation. In this second season, the Shishigumi is a main part of the story and the students are now very deeply involved.
