Discussion Time

Boku no Hero Academia Chapter 218 wasn’t too much of an action heavy chapter nor did it do much to that we didn’t already know was going to happen. Those who failed the original provisional hero license exam finally are nearing the completion of the make up classes and we see that ol’ long nose seems to be showing signs he will annihilate the League of Villains. Basically, this week’s chapter was more of a progression based one just wrapping up some loose ends with our current arc and moving towards a possible new one. Was it good? In our minds yes, but we can also see how chapter 218 could easily be skipped without much of a problem either. Though we never recommend literally skipping a chapter, just why it could be skipped.

Why You Should Read Boku no Hero Academia Chapter 218

1. The Gang Need Their Provisional License!

Boku no Hero Academia chapter 219 finally gives some of our less fortunate heroes in training, their provisional license giving them legal powers to use their quirks in dire situations. While this might seem silly, this means that in future arcs, Bakugo, Shota and even the others from various heroes schools can finally help out the police and other heroes without causing any legal issues. We assume this was also done to prepare for an epic battle between the League of Villains that will arise any chapter now. Deku and his friends will need everyone’s help if they want to stand a chance against this growing threat.

2. Clearing Up Loose Ends

As quick and simple chapter 218 was of Boku no Hero Academia, it was a much needed one to begin wrapping up some of the leftover elements from past chapters. We have our possible threats prepping up, we have possible allies—or villains—rearing to go and we have our heroes finally getting closer to being legal heroes in the system! Those who like closure in their stories will see that chapter 218 does that and leaves open a new arc to finally begin, if this arc truly will wrap up like this.

Why You Should Skip Boku no Hero Academia Chapter 218

1. Nothing You Couldn’t Skip

We all knew that eventually our failed provisional heroes were going to get their licenses eventually. Equally, it’s not crazy to think various organizations and powers are rearing up to enter the fray with the League of Villains. That’s why chapter 218 can actually be skipped for those who aren’t too pressed to know obvious events. Plus, the lack of almost any action and the quick wrap up of the provisional classes kind of was a let down but we equally are glad our heroes are moving forward rather than stagnating.

Final Thoughts

Boku no Hero Academia’s 218th chapter wasn’t anything that impressive if we’re being honest. It wasn’t a badly done chapter and didn’t do anything per say wrong, but it lacked any epic moments like the one we saw in chapter 217. Still, with how things are going we can expect a possible big event in chapter 219 or 220 and that is what saves this chapter from being a bit of a letdown.
